Candidate Journals

At Taekwondo I took two classes and helped for one. The 4:30 class was sparring and the 5:30 class was PMAA. The last class was my favorite because we had alot of the new students there.

School went by very fast today because of what we learned today. I came home and played basketball with the neighbors, it started raining so we went inside to play xbox.

I have spent the last two days going on freshman field trips. That will truly try your patience. It is challenging sometimes figuring out what is just "spazzy" little kid and what is a little kid being disrespectful. Overall it was a good day, but I am ready to wind down for the day.

Been a busy day in school today. Worked hard. Came home to work on my Map project that is due tomorrow.

I went to school and i had a project due in spanish class, i think i did pretty good. i walked home and did some requirements and I'm about to go to my art class

Today was a nice chill day. I had 3 teachers absent from my 4 classes. The only teacher present was my gym teacher. All i did was play basketball in that class lol. It was great

my family & friends still think I should NOT be driving. ... I however think as long as I don't have to look to either side (much).. then I'm okay, and truth is, I am probably still safer than half the fools I pass who are driving and texting. (They all also think I drive too fast too, why start listening now. ha) This morning I did an entire set of kicks without having to hold on to the chair, and did not fall backwards. I did not go to BB class last night, forms are still tough, the physically turning is still really throwing me off. I was told afterwards they did falls and rolls too so probably best I didn't attempt that. uugh! I am hoping to remain well enough through the day today to actually attend class in Belmont tonight. One day at a time my friends. Sometimes...

Great day to be back after a long weekend! Went paddle boarding this past weekend on the Catawba River. New experiences always humble my athletic abilities.

Felt pretty good tonight in class- just coughed a few times. I'm officially on the mend! Master Evins is allowing me to mentor Donna and Jerome and I'm looking forward to meeting them possibly on Mondays and Saturdays! This cycle is flying by.

Long day...great classes though! Black belt class I got a chance to work on a variety of forms. Still got a ways to go before testing! PMAA was good too, big shoutout to Instructor Weeks for his help. Thank you sir! Gotta go to the DMV tomorrow morning... :( At least it will be a lesson in patience...

Today was a good day. I am on a school field trip to camp Harrison and we are doing team building activities and other fun stuff. I am doing my stuff before bed and it's kind of weird having the rest of the boys look at me like I'm crazy.

These last couple of weeks have been filled with news of family and friends passing. People handle death differently. I used to shout Aiden's name as I drove down the interstate. In the middle of the night, I would walk into is room and just sob in the middle of the floor. I'm not afraid of death anymore. I don't have a death wish or want to die any earlier, but I'll accept it when it's my time. The news of Grandmaster Jung passing was the first time I cried for someone after Aiden. It was hard when Lori's grandmother passed away too. I know there is more after you pass away. There has to be.

Today I had a fun day. I went to school from 9:15 to 4:30. After that I went to Tae Kwon Do and helped out the family class. After that I went home and ate dinner.

Today, i went to school. We moved to a new topic in math! When i came home, i did my requirements. Then i went to black belt class. Now i'm very busy.... so by

39 Clues is a book series written by Rick Riodan. I just read the first one and it is called The Maze of Bones. I liked the book because it has action and suspense. It was one of the best books I have ever read. I plan to read all 39 books in the series. The main characters are a boy and his sister. Their names are Dan and Amy. Amy is older than Dan but Dan seems smarter. Their friend Nelly is taking them all over the world. Their parents aren't the ones doing this because they died in a fire. Their Grandma Grace died and she left them the 39 Clues. But the some of the Cahill family was competing against them. They were competing against them because after the 39 clues are found, that team or person will become the more powerful Cahill in history. According to this...

Relaxing Labor Day weekend. Dyed fabric and made some batiks with mixed results. Cleared my summer deck garden. Spent some quality I me with myself and my pets. For such a relaxing weekend, everything hurts today. Not sure why. Work was physical this AM, but I was achy before I got out of bed. Tomorrow is early and long day at work. Hopefully, I can work in some requirements. Reading the Art of War for my book requirement. Trying to get back in the groove.

My body is not going to be a happy camper tomorrow as today I got a lot accomplished very early not knowing it was going to be red stripe week. Met with my mentee and worked on self defense & hapkido, helped in junior class at 5:45 then took adult class. Class was very nice as Master Chin took the senior belts to the back room with focus on some self defense but hit the physical requirements hard in between - -it was non stop and felt great. We will see what tomorrow brings- - - -.

Today I left school early to go to my great aunts funeral. We got hme around 3 and we were all tired.

It the first day back to school after the long weekend. I didn't much on Labor Day or Saturday. On Sunday though I went to Carowinds with friends and rode the Fury twice. I even got to ride the Intimidator three times. Tomorrow my class is having a debate/court about cutting down trees. I am defending (lawyer) the people that are affected by it. I hope my side wins again. Homework is now starting to pile up, but that is seventh grade. That is all for me bye.

ahhhh.... i feel very productive. I went to swim practice, for 2:00,than went to PMAA. It was a tough practice. Today was nice. It was my friends birthday. In 2 weeks minus a Monday is my birthday. Yay.

Woke up early this morning and did a few sit ups and push ups. Came home and ate dinner then went down to master Shin's and took three classes.

Today was the same as any other day I woke up early this morning and did requirements, then I had to go to school after school I came home and went to do 3 classes at Taekwondo. Plus I did more requirements and got a mentor session.

Today on school we got a lot of our quizzes back. I got good grades on all of them. When I got back from school, I did some requirements. I ran 2 miles today and did some jump rope.

I went to school then i came home and did some requirements. I'm about to go to TKD class

Didn't get much done today as far as requirements are concerned. Back to work tomorrow.

Had a great labor day! I did all my requirements  and some extra pull ups. After that i just chilled all day. it was great

Today, i went to a party because someone was getting a new house. Then i went to my friends house. I am not feeling well, and i have school tomorrow, so i have to sleep.

I went to discovery place and watched a movie, it was cool.

Yup it was a day of labor but all is good. Things happen for a reason so not all went as planned. My day that was to be machine mode for tkd did not happen instead I cycloned thru every room in the house to find donations for the rummage sale at Ironstone lane stables and rescue. It worked out as we have some construction projects starting so den needed cleared so why not everything else. Hope they have a successful sale. Love the fur balls!!! Happy for what I did fit in on requirements though, anything is better than nothing.

Woke up and did some requirements then I went back to doing essays for a while. I also went to the store with my parents, we went to Trader Joe's and they had really interesting foods there.

Today i played with my cousins and had cookie cake.

It's been a bad day today. We found out that my uncle passed away last Thursday but they did not find him until yesterday. We spent a long time with Miimi last night. Every one is really sad. I have not had much time to work on my requirements today. I'll do better tomorrow.

I found out today that one of my friends from OT school lost her father last night in a vehicle accident. It reminds me how fragile our lives are. Make your life count and tell the ones you love that you love them. Rest in Peace Tom The Jazzman Mallison.

Today I did a lot of requirements because of the long weekend. I am so sore now. I helped my sister play the piano. We are going out to eat today.

I began my day rather slowly today.  I slept late, got out of bed late, everything seems to be  happening either late or slow.  I'm trying to get energized so I can work on requirements.  Corn on the cobb and chicken on the grill made for a nice dinner .   After dinner back to work outs.  Trying to get them done.

Well, I am actually sitting in the chair and it is not spinning so I am very "happy' this Labor day, however my Labor day has been spent playing catch up on the endless work I need to catch up on. I've been able to do some kicks today (taking breaks from work) WITHOUT holding on to a chair. Yeah !!! ... Hopefully the balance is 'on the mend'. (I should probably knock on some wood or something. ha) Still have a lot of requirements to do today but while I am at the computer I figured I should make a journal entry. I find these difficult because it always seems like it is after midnight before I get to them, so I always feel like my timing is off.. I hope everyone has been able to enjoy their Labor Day !!

The Hartles and the Lloyds came over for diner and a fantasy football draft last night. I had a great time. We introduced Chelley to "ENO." Wasn't sure we were going to get her out. As for the night...All I can say is Sangracias.

Today was a great labor day spending quality time with family and friends. We went to lunch at Hickory Tavern and then had a great bonfire.

Today on Minecraft, I built a space station that you can live there without oxygen gear. I took a while to make it.

Got up and cooked a good breakfast this morning. Bacon, eggs, grits, and toast! Taking it kind of easy today. I want to get stuff done, but its also Labor Day, so I would like to relax a little bit. My wife and I adopted a new dog yesterday from the Lake Norman Animal Rescue. She is a beagle named River. She has definitely kept us entertained so far!

So today is Labor Day, obviously, and I don't know if we have swim practice. It's good and bad. Bad because swimming is like I dunno burns a lot of calories and you get a lot of muscle through hard work. Once last Tuesday we were doing like 6 100 of butterfly kick and my abs hurt sooo bad. Like we still swim outside in a long distance pool. It's because SwimMAC is building there own pool and we have to rent random swim spots like we swim at Moss Creek or at HFFA or at Davidson college. Yeah we swim we're the college swims. Literally like 15 minute walk and like 1 minute drive. Davidson is my favorite pool. But anyways swimming is like really annoying to get ready and stuff I have to decide which suit to wear like did I wear this one last last week? Or I...

Every body seems to have had a fabulous weekend. Our neighbors had their grandkids, and they just built a pool. Sooo jealous. My brother sister and I are working on convincing our parents to build one. But first they say, we have to renovate the porch. I agree though. It's made with wood for inside, not outside. Completely stupid. Even if it has a roof. My sister and i did have a nice weekend though. On Sunday, we did a cook off sort of thing, in our new kitchen. It's soooo nice. We renovateded it, and it's all grays, and dark wood, and it's really pretty. We had fun. Hope you had a fun weekend too!(we also did our requirements)

This is my 50th journal entry! I went to the mountains this weekend and I had a lot of fun rafting and going to a waterfall to swim in the river. I didn't do any requirements while I was there though. I am so glad that I don't have school today. I need to work on a few things like my essay, written test questions, and homework that I can get ahead on for the week.

Today is starting to be a good day. This is what has happened already. We woke up and watched TV. After that I went and logged my homework in my computer. Now I am doing my journal and after we are having a BBQ . I can not wait to see what happens at the BBQ today. And I can not wait for school and TKD tomorrow. See you then. Bye and see you tomorrow.

Today I got up early to mow the grass and then we went out on the boat. We stayed in the sand bar and lounged around in the water.

Today me and my family went to church, went home, took a nap, then we went to Lowes to get some stuff to fix up the backyard. So we fixed up the backyard and had a little chill time. I learned how to do a layup.

Major happy dance today!! So thankful for my mentor - she rocks!!!! Yup holiday weekend and she is willing to help. Alot accomplished and would not ask for more. Have some construction projects starting at the house so disaster zone but my crazy compullsiveness is trying to looking the otherway. Hope can finish packing up the den so essays can start tomorrow,

I spent most of the day working on my essays. I also went to the store with my dad and found these really cool water bottles that looked kinda like soad cans that had came in pink owls, blue anchors,grey camouflage, and many Coca~Cola designs, they were really cool! I also did other requirements.

Hooray for three day weekends! It's been a relaxing weekend so far. The boys got to play with their cousins and Lori and I are just chillin. My legs are recovering after a "heavy" day of leg day. I was able to get 225 on the smith for two sets of 8 doing squats. Taking it a little easy on the requirements since most of them are done.

Today we went for a hike in a mountain. It was very tiring! My feet were hurting so much. Then we went to Olive Garden to eat lunch. Now i will sleep.

My Grammie lives on Lake Gaston. It is half in NC and half in Virginia.She lives in NC yet is very close to the NC line. We ride the boat or jetski over it all the time. I like the jetski better because I can go knee boarding, tubing, or just jumping waves. I like kneeboarding because that means I can try something new. I've even gotten all the way on my feet. It's fun because it's hard to do and it challenges me. Even though I'm pretty experienced it's still hard to get on my feet. My uncle lives here with my Grammie and he has the original XBox with Halo 1 and 2. So when we are not playing in the lake I can play on the XBox. Always a good trip!

I have been in bed sick since Thursday night. Today I finally feel much better and I had a mentee session with Instructor Donna. Donna is like the Energizer Bunny. I wish I had half the energy she has! Easing my way back into requirements. Need to stay healthy until test day.

Got to sleep in late this morning. Have not done much all day. I played on my video games and worked on requirements.

Today i went to Carowinds again. There were so many long lines. I went on a 3 rides though. I went on the Nighthawk, Fury 325, and The Intimidator. I had fun at Carowinds today.

I had my egg whites ,saugage and coffee for breakfast.  It's time to really work hard on poomsae and self defense requirements.  It' going slow but I'm doing my  best to get the burpees done.  

Perserverance ..."steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success...."really these days, that is what I hold onto. There have been days (that go back to the spring cycle in March) that I have just wondered "why"... I can't seem to get one ailment well, or partially well and I come up with something new. I fell this morning, not sure if it was before I got out of bed, or as I was trying to get out of bed.. I've been getting out of bed all by myself for quite a few years now.. It all just took me by surprise. Slammed my shoulder on the edge of the bed, I laugh at another ailment. It is amazing how much we take for granted with our body and how it functions. I already fight pain daily, and now I have this balance thing going on... I will tell...

I got to spend the night with my best friend Zac and we played zombies until we couldn't stay awake. Had to get to come home to cut the grass and then heading to the lake with my girlfriend.

about 30 cousins came over today, we had a good time.

I hope this counts. I was lying in bed then I remember Master Xhelley saying that I need to write journal entries and thank goodness I had my iPad next to me in bed so I wrote a journal entry. So today was fun. We (twin) ran with my big bro to the greenway but we had to ask a lady directions because we couldn't find it. Well then we went to our house by lake Norman and moved stuff into the car and yeah. Then we watched a movie went to bed. It sounds boring but was actually fun.

Today i went to my friends house to play. We went for a run. It was tiring. Then i went to PDQ to eat food. Now it is time to sleep

Got to sleep in on a saterday it felt great. After that i went to the gym and ran a ton. I prefer treadmills running outside idk why. Then i did alotttt of sit-ups. Then i went some and chilled all day :D

Today was not quite what was planned but all is good. Bad news, minimal on tkd, but good news alot done on the home front and hopefully will set up the next two days.

I took my first class since my busted leg yesterday. A bit on the ugly side, and a bit soar today. I still did some things, but I will definitely be taking some ibuprofen.

Today I went to Carowinds. I rode the nighthawk, the fury, and the intimidator. I rode the nighthawk for the first time today. It was awesome. I might go again later on.

I got late start this morning or at least I was back on my schedule.  Cereal and milk for breakfast and of course my coffee.  I did a five mile hike and few other requirements.  Will be relaxing for rest of the day.

Today I am going to Outback Steak House with my grandparents for my birthday. I am going to have steak with ketchup. I walked the dog 2 miles.

Using today to get a bunch of chores done. Got yardwork done, gave the dog a bath, went for a run. Just going to do some cleaning up around the house as well. Pretty sore today, but still able to get requirements done. Probably use tomorrow to work on essays!

Today We're going to get cleaned and organized in the house. I have found old toys and books from my childhood and it makes me look back what seems so long ago.

Last night we had our Friday night football high school home game against Shelby. We were winning by one touchdown at the beginning and then it started storming so we went out to get some food to pass the time. It started back and it was a tied game 21 to 21 we threw an interception and they scored in the last 3 minutes of the 4th quarter. Shelby is a good team and we played a great game.

today was awesome i woke up and went to school it was Friday!!! so i had a lot of exams i did my math and my science exam! i got a 100% on both i felt happy and also proud i feel like i was studying hard last night well when school was over i went back home i walked my dog and went to my guitar lessons it was fun i was learning a song for my moms birthday I'm half way through the song almost don't but here i go i only got 2 more weeks left to practice! when my guitar lessons where over i went to church and then ate with my mom at this pizza place it was the best because i got to spend time with here i got home right about 9pm so I'm about to go to bed right now goodnight!!! tgif!!

Today at school we had a math and geography exam. I think I did good. I went to the Belmont location for the open map.

Its hailing pretty bad right now. I Was planning to go out for a run but i guess i cant do that anymore. I will just double the push ups and stuff so i wont have to do it this weekend. 

Went down to Master Shin's after school today and worked on my forms, and self defenses. Looking forward to a long weekend. Dad said that we may go gem mining. Looking forward to it.

Today in science we had a notebook quiz. The questions were really hard. The whole class went by just with the quiz. I am glad I finished because if we didn't we had to stay after school to finish. I don't want to stay on a Friday.

today I am still at school and I got some free time and so I am logging and journaling so far today has been pretty good and I am looking forward to getting out of school.

Today I had to pay a visit to the Cardiologist to check heart because rate was low.  I tried to explain to my Dr everything is fine it's just my exercise routine.  Of course it turned out all good.  I returned home and went for 4.2 miles and felt great.  If I only had my requirements done!!!  The finish line is closer.

All right! Made it to Friday! Got up early and went to the gym again. Ran 2 miles, then did more core and arms. Practiced some inclined/reverse sit ups with extra weights. That will really help with my V situps especially. Doing the gym on top of black belt requirements definitely calls for SORE muscles! I'm sure I will work out the soreness this weekend with chores around the house and yard work with requirements. I also received my first recommendation letter yesterday!

In science. Just finished the science study guide. Bored. Ryan(he sits next to me) is looking at everybody's requirements. He's doing the cycle next spring.yaaaay 3 day weekend.......

Got to the gym and went medium heavy on legs today! I can tell my endurance and power is no where near what it used to be, but I'm moving in the right direction. I would like to be back on stage next year.

Today at school on the morning anoncments they showed this cool contest and you are saposed to sell as many little coupon cards as you can and there is a lot of cupons on they have tenders, kilwins, brusters and putt put buy a game get a game free it is cool.  After school was over I rode the van back to tae Kwon do and took class and did homework.  So today was pretty fun.

Still learning as I move forward with my journey. I was finally able to get back into the gym this morning to work out my shoulders and abs. The gym is OK. Just OK. Nothing great about it at all except it's closer than the Gold's Gym in Gastonia. I get my work out in and I leave. I'm looking to grow a little more and would like to get back on stage next year. The left knee is still giving me some doubt when I move a certain way. One thing for sure is I've lost proprioception in that knee. I find that I lose balance easily now.

Today i got a lot done. We did tons of bur-pees in black belt class. After that i went home and did tons of sit ups and some push ups. I cant wait for this 3 day weekend so i can just chill all day. And do requirements of course. 

 BB class was fun and work tonight.   I felt the training we did tonight gave us reason to listen and really focus on the moment.   I was able to do some requirements. 

Today was full of studying and practiing chemistry equations and vocab but I compleley understand it now and I feel like I could do it with my eyes closed

Today i went t a football game in the Bank Of America Stadium and watched my team lose.

Very productive day today- -up early- -requirements - -work- - then off to the dojang. Very happy tomorrow is Friday and sooo looking forward the weekend.

I got a lot of requirements done before school today. Had fun at school today. Learned a lot. Helped out with classes today. We had a lot of new students. It was awesome. After I went out to dinner with my mom :)

Today in school, i had a substitute! It wasn't good. My class went crazy. When i came back, i did my homework. Then i did my requirements. I went to black belt class today. I had a normal day

Thursday will be my catch up day. I didn't have time yesterday to do my run, finish homework,eat dinner, and still go to sleep at a decent time. So, I will double up on what I miss on Thursdays. I only have a couple of journal entries left. YAY!

I hope the "slow and steady wins the race" strategy works for me. It is obvious that my body won't tolerate doing all the physical requirements in 10 weeks.  I'm trying to pace myself through this audit cycle. My goal is to do as much as I can without injury or exacerbating my asthma.  Free mat class was good today even though I was by myself. I really focused on kicks and poomsaes. I've taken magnesium and coconut water. Hopefully no leg cramps tonight. I don't ever want to go through that again.

today in school we did virtual lab in science. We had a quiz in math, s.s, and l.a. All the quizzes were pretty easy though. That is pretty much all we did in school today.

Today was a regular day at school. Nothing new happened. We had our classes, ate lunch, went to specials, went to recess then we went home. Then I helped with class at King Tiger. Then my dad picked me up.

Another day full of school work and working on my requirements. Helped out at Master Shin's today. Had 3 new people join the class today.

Day 5-Leg is about the same. I am a bit anxious and a bit frustrated. I can't get not being able to finish the BB cycle out of my head.

Today at school during recess we started playing soccer. My team scored the first goal on the opponents' goal. they later scored and right after that the high school students joined in. Then they scored again and they were winning. After that my team scored but then we had to leave. I had to return to my class and resume school.

Had a long workout at the gym this morning. Ran 3 miles before I actually got into the gym, too. Focused a lot on core today, but also knocked out some pull ups, arms, and legs. I like running outside SO much better than on a treadmill or elliptical machine. It was pretty humid this morning, though. Sweat, sweat, sweat!
