15. Did a lot today

Today I went to black belt class, helped with the little kid class, did my mentor session, and went to the poomsae seminar, and then came home and helped cut the grass.

Saturday today

So today in black belt class we did to much poomsae it could have been a poomsae class. Anyway when we got home and I played with my friends with there water guns then I went biking then went home ate dinner and did some sit-ups  push-ups and burpees and now that's it byw.

Hi today I woke up and went to master Evens class after that I stayed the rest of the classes and did my requirements and helped out.Then I went home and played with friends. Well that was my day by.

Saturday 26th Curtis Journal

Saturday- big day today. Class early, a quick mentee session and a quick poomsae seminar. Tiring but it was all really good practice. Off to California tomorrow, I hope I can keep up with all my daily requirements.

Journal #15

Today we had BB class and we worked on poomsaes. I had a session with my mentor and then we had a poomsae seminar at the Lake Norman school. After that, we went to hang out at my uncle’s house and watched some anime. I finished my requirements when I got home.

Journal Entry #12 7/26/25

Today is a Saturday. And usually on Saturdays I sleep in. But I woke up earlier today because Lake Norman had a Poomsae Seminar. And me, Avery, and Parker went to it. It was nice. It gave me a new perspective on Poomsaes. And some of the stuff I learned today I’m going to use on poomsaes for now on. The class felt so short. Like time went by fast. I think it was an hour and thirty minutes long. And after that all of us went out for lunch. We had Shake Shack.

Today I went to black belt class and then I helped with the class after that then I went home chilled for a bit then had lunch after that I did some requirements then I had dinner

July 26

Today I went to the Poomsae Seminar and then I went to my grandma's house for lunch. After that I went home and did the requirements. Because of the heat, I go running around 8 p.m. and so I keep hearing some of the coyotes around me when I'm out there. Apparently they chased a bicyclist in the trails where I run. My mom worries endlessly but I think I could beat a few coyotes. They are like small-ish dogs. I have never had a dog but I'm not that far from the houses so I think it's fine.

Weekend #14

Today was a very long day for the weekend. I went to Black belt class this morning, we worked a lot on our black poomses. I feel good about Taebeak and where I am. After I left black belt class, I took my youngest son to meet his kindergarten teacher. Then it was  time to go to the seminar at Lake Norman, Master Marcus broke everything down and we had a great time.

This evening I decided to go to sparring for black belt credits. I arrived a little to early but I helped Master Knight with inventory before sparring. I had a great time sparring new people and the same people I always spar. After sparring I went home with a headache so I went to bed.

7/26/2025

Today I slept in before I went to the poomsae seminar. It was actually very useful and if you ask anybody who went they would say the same thing. I learned many useful things about how to improve my stances, technique, and blocks. I learned interesting facts about pal chang double kicks and how they should be done. All this time I thought they both were ladder kicks moving forward. After the seminar I went to Cheesecake Factory to celebrate how the cycle is going in general. I finished my requirements at home and planned out my essays and other requirements for the next month. It felt good seeing that I am on my fourth essay and will have a lot of requirements done before school starts. I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow. Goodbye :).

today nothing much happened, I had sparring today which was fun but for some reason my core hurt, I couldn't find out why, yesterday at black belt class we didn't really do any core other than warmups, and the day before I just helped out and had a mentee session. but once I went to go do my pull ups for the day I found out why, I usually never really felt it that much as my arms were doing most of the work, but my core actually took a big part in the pull ups this past week so thats why its been hurting. but yeah

Today I went to my first weekend black belt class and after, I helped out in family class. I also went to the Poomsae seminar. Once, I got home from the seminar, I got in my pool and relaxed a bit. I'm also looking forward to starting soccer preseason for my school. I'm looking forward to an awesome season.

Back to Business

Went to BB class this morning. Great class. I was feeling a little queasy and my muscles were cramping from being dehydrated but I powered through. I stopped and bought some electrolytes on the way home and felt fine the rest of the day. I missed the poomsae seminar because I had to go to Indian Hill.

Today was the last day of TKD before it starts again on Monday. It was nice to see people from different schools at black belt & sparring classes. Work on some basics and answer some questions at seminars, and see the progress everyone has made so far during the cycle.

Today I woke up went to tkd then went on a walk, after I went back to tkd to do a poomsae seminar which was good then I watched tv. Night!!

Saturday

Today i woke up at 7:30 am to get ready for sparring class, right after class I helped master knight with the junior tiger's class. then I came home for a shower before leaving to go to lunch then ice cream with some church friends at papa robs, I'm about to start my essays then my workouts.

Drivers Ed...

Last night I had to stay up late to finish my drivers ed course because I was behind on it so I didn't sleep that well. I still woke up for sparring class this morning though, and I had fun. I stayed to help out with the other classes and then I had leadership class. Then I came home and ate lunch and now I'm about to finish up my requirements. That's it for today, bye!

I did so well the first week of journaling and not so well the second.  I really need to focus on getting these in, I've been doing well with my other requirements.  Had a Sat BB class and then a mentor session today, then I went to the poomsae seminar put on at Lake Norman.  I enjoyed the day, but after sparring and BB Class in Harrisburg last night and all the things today, I'm pretty worn out.

Week 3...

Just got done finishing my requirements, Today I went to Taekwondo today, got a sparring class in, class assistance, and leadership credits. Cant believe its week 3 and its weird that next Saturday is the pre-test when it feels like I've done so much already. Have a good day!

Saratoga springs

Today was a lot because I woke up at 5am to go to the airport for the flight to Saratoga, NY. So I was already exhausted by noon, but I went to the main st of Saratoga and that was pretty cool, there were a lot of cool shops and stuff. After that I went to a concert which was great and now I’m going to bed.

Hello from Saratoga Springs

Today I got up before the sun and travelled to Saratoga Springs, NY. I brought some yoga pads so we are able to do our requirements more comfortably. I worked from the plane, which was pretty cool. I was able to connect to the VPN and had complete connectivity from miles in the sky. Tonight was the first of three Phish shows, and it was amazing. Can't wait until tomorrow.

Ontario Trip 2

Today I went to Ontario. Second time this year. I usually end up going twice in the summer. After getting here, I immediately had to do some swimming in the lake. I also came back to some of the best ice cream ever in my opinion. I won't be able to be here for the mile swim this year, but I can still do some long-distance open water swimming with my sisters and their friends that they took here.

This day was pretty engaging. I woke up and I had to go somewhere, with my dad and sister. First we went to a dealership because they had my moms car, since it got damaged the other day (I forgot which). Then we went to a friend of my sister's shop. It's called Juice Box and its near TD Bank on Beatties Ford Road. After that when I got home my mom's friend came over and she hung around for a bit. Then we went to P.F. Chang's for dinner. When I got home I had to do my requirements then go to bed after writing this. So have a goodnight.

Today I got to have a very normal day. The cycle has been hard but fair. This has been a blessing & a curse. on one hand the constancy of mentoring & leadership makes it easy. on the other it's hard to arrange poomsae & self defense in an ever changing world of events.

Today was my marching band preview. It went pretty well, but it helped me realize something. The recurring theme of today is pretty straightforward, nobody's opinion matters unless I let it matter. Theres no point in listening to people that aren't devoted and commited to making me better as a person or helping me. the opinions that help me, whether that be from friends or instructors or whomever, are important and help me to be a better version of myself. why cloud my mind with useless judgement from those who don't care about my success in the slightest when i could use the advice of those who actually know what they're doing and care about me. got all my requirements done, took advanced sparring and a blackbelt class, ate dave's hot chicken for dinner, and now playing R6 with Jakhye.

Today I went to the white water center with friend. i did my workout and am starting to feel better. I think I might loss time on my mile tomorrow because I am going on a road trip.

Today was cool, I woke up did my requirements, later I went to my friends church where there was lots of games. After that we went to the pool to swim for a while and watch a movie. But, halfway through the movie it started to thunder so we got out and watched the movie from outside the pool. The person that was taking me home was the lifeguard, and it was a pretty crazy ride home! Anyway, I had a pretty fun but crazy day.

13. I forgot to journal yesterday

Yesterday not much happened.  I just went to practice and did a lot of throwing the football.  My mom picked me up from camp early, so I got to do my mile early.

Friday 7/25 Curtis Journal

Quiet day today- or maybe just “normal” . I got up and worked out with the F3 guys, unfortunately it didn’t really match up with the daily requirements so I had to get my burpees and sit-ups in later in the day. work was slow- wrapping up a few things before leaving Sunday for California. I really enjoyed blackbelt class today, lots of self defense.

Today I didn’t really do much. I helped my mom clean the house for a little bit. I did my requirements, but nothing really else today.

Today was probably the most fun I had in a day on the cycle. Drove to the Knight and Foster location to take sparring and black belt class. It was great to see Master Knight and catch up with some fundamentals we don't always practice at the North Charlotte location. Spar some people I don't always spar and even work on my staff form #2.

Journal #14

Today I walked the dog with my mom in the morning and then took a rest before doing my requirements. In the afternoon, I helped my mom pick figs off our tree and there were a lot of bees and ants. We went out to a Mexican restaurant for dinner and a lady took our picture. We bought one of me and my brother. Tomorrow is bb class so I have to get up early, which is never fun.

I woke up and I was bored. curious I went into the kitchen, I wondered if maybe I can cook or bake something and I thought of cinnamon rolls, I looked online for a simple recipe and I started to make them, they were great, I then went to taekwondo and had to do requirements after cause I woke up to late

7/25/2025

Today was a simple day. I did not go to camp because I had to go to the dentist. Everything was fine no cavities and no need for anything special. I came home and relaxed before doing my requirements. Later I went to TKD to do black belt class and sparring. Master Knight taught the classes since Master Foster was out on vacation. I learned some of staff form 2 and worked on staff from 1. Staff form 2 was pretty interesting with a lot of new movements and attacks. We did a lot of rolls and falls in class too. We also did a lot of drills in sparring to practice our movement and footwork. I think I did pretty well sparring. We ended class with ladder kicks which tired everybody out. After class I went to Jim and Nick's with my mom for dinner. I hope to see everyone...

Today was good. As normal got up did my exercises packed things up in our cabin, and then we had a 4 hour road trip ahead of us. We got dropped off at the church then I went home and finished up my workout. I watched Happy gilmore for the first time it was pretty funny. And that is my day

Self Care #12

Today I did not go to the Dojang after work. I took to day as a self care day after yesterday, which was intense. I did schedule myself a professional stretching appointment. That went very well and my body feels much more limber and a loose. Yesterday after sparring and black belt class I was very tense, so this was very helpful. I am hoping to atlas once a week or every other week get this done, I see how it will benefit me through the cycle and with my over all mobility. Tomorrow starts the week end, I am so looking forward to the poemsae seminar and some good boxing on latter that eventing on Saturday.

July 24

Today went well. I had breakfast with my grandfather and a group of his friends, all of which are retired and meet up for breakfast at least once a month. I had to pack for tomorrow, as I am leaving for Ontario. Taekwondo went well, and I got to do some sparring with the people on the black belt cycle. Sparring classes are always way more fun when the black belt cycle is in progress because more people are required to be there. Today was tiring, just as much as the past three days this week, so I am going to go get some sleep in before I have to go tomorrow.

Journal #13

Today at camp we took a field trip to the Flying Tiger Ninja course. We had a lot of fun. We also got to check out a moth that Master Lisa found outside KT, Im not a fan of bugs though so I stayed away. I got some of my requirements done at camp and the rest I finished after dinner. Tomorrow I have the day off, so I get to sleep in.

Today I started the day with a bike ride and did some requirements. Work was busy, and I had a bunch of things to accomplish before leaving for NY tomorrow. I feel like I accomplished everything, including class assistance and sparring, so I can go to bed without worrying.

Today I went to work and it was fun. We went to the Raptor Center and saw all kinds of birds, and some even did tricks. We also saw a black snake on the trails. I didn't even notice it until it moved. I kind of fell asleep after coming home, so I didn't really do anything else. Byeeee

My day was good. As normal I got up did my exercises first thing went to go have breakfast, went to my Job site and we got to lowes and then we got to the house we were working on  then we  painted the wall gave it a new door under the house. Cause the other one was really broken and we got rid of the old bricks put them in the trailer had lunch  and headed back to camp. I'm exhausted.

7/24 Curtis Journal

Today was the first sparring class I’ve been to since last cycle. Last cycle after every round of sparring I remember being exhausted. This time I felt pretty good, still tired and sweaty but I didn’t feel like I was going to die, I’m looking forward to more sparring classes!

Today I went down to a bike shop where a friend of mine works and I got a new bike. That's the highlight of my day but I have more soccer training tomorrow. I'm feeling good about my soccer practices right now and hopefully we will have a successful soccer season.

Tonight I was helping Master Knight with TKD. I decided to help him close up by taking out the trash. As I was coming back from the stinky dumpster I tried opening the door but it didn't open. So just left my stuff there. Hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow.

Today I’m going to the orthodontist. I thought they said the last time we were going there was in 8 months. But we're going today. I don’t think we’re going to be there long. But yeah today has been a chill day. After this I’m going to get on the game. I have to leave in 30 minutes.

Today I woke up at 6:50 AM to get ready for another day as an LIT for the Harrisburg YMCA summer camp. So far being an LIT has been pretty good (with a few challenges here and there) I have made some great friends working there, at the beginning of the week they gave me a "camp name" (which is basically a nickname) which is "Sushi" due to my love of ... well, sushi.

Today was the last day of the digital detox, I was excited to get it done with but that was not the only thing that happened. I went to camp today and it was a good time. We played a lot of fun games, went to the flying tiger obstacle course and I just relaxed. After camp I went to Starbucks to get a drink, it was pretty good. Now I am home and done with all my requirements so I am about to go play with friends. Goodbye everybody :)

not much happens today but luckily, I got to make pasta for a party. I had to make 2 pounds of noodles & it went amazingly well. I got to use a wok that we have for some reason. I hope the pasta was well received at the party. that's all.

I was making a milkshake with blue berries, honey, ice, milk of course, and ice cream. When I was done blending it I tried it and I noticed there was something red in there. I pulled the red thing out of the milkshake and saw legs and then I realized it was a spider. So I through the milkshake out.

Hard work #11

Today would qualify as a hard work day. I managed to complete my requirement between sessions and practice staff 3 again. I think I have it some what down now. Later after work I took my son to work in uptown, I had to think of all the alternative routes and street ways to go around traffic, so I could make it to the Dojang on time. This defiantly reminded  me why I like working from home. When I made it to the Dojang I took sparring class and then black belt class. I can tell I am getting in better shape but I still have ways to go.

12. 4/10 Day

So, today I found a mentee, Levi.  That was the best part of my day.  Let me get to the bad part.  I came home from football practice and the AC was not working.  I thought my dog was going to pass away because of no AC.  She is a french bulldog and cannot be in the heat.  I was so scared for her because it was hot in the house.  Finally the AC came back on before I got in the bed.  Today was a 4/10.

Sleepy

I'm not sure what it was, but I was sleepy most of the day, despite getting more sleep than yesterday. I ended up waking up later for morning workouts than I wanted to, and I almost forgot about my online Mandarin lesson scheduled today, one of many this summer in order to keep myself from getting too rusty for next year. Classes today were fun, and I got to nerd out about some poomsae details that I probably would not have gotten to know if it weren't for last week while preparing some people on the cycle for the upcoming pre-test.

Journal #12

Today we watched Call of the Wild in summer camp. It was kinda sad. We had pasta for dinner, which is my favorite but I couldnt eat much because I had to go to sparring and bb class. We did self defenses and poomsaes in bb class. After class, I met with my mentor. I got to eat more pasta when I got home then I finished my requirements.

7/23 #6

This was a pretty boring day except at the start of it my sister wanted me to go walk with her all the way to the store down the street that was like one and a half miles away. I didn't really want to because I just woke up and I don't want to walk. After some time I call my mom but she doesn't answer. So I don't go and some time later my dad comes home and she doesn't ask him about going to the store but we'll brush past that. Nothing really happens later, I eat, I go to sparring and black belt class, and do the rest of my requirements when i get home. I just need to clean some and nothing else.

Today I went to King Tiger camp. While I was there we went to the rec center pool after that we did some games after camp I went home. While my grandma and my sister were at cheer I was home doing my requirements after I did that I played with my friends then they came home and we ate dinner.

7/19 I did my workout but no run. 7/20 I ran two miles and did my workout. 7/21 I did not make it to class but did my workout I ran one mile. 7/22 I made it to class and helped with testing. In the black celt class we talked about the written test. 7/23 I ran two miles and did some missing parts of my workouts. I started thinking abot my essays.

Wednesday - 7/23 Curtis

Another pretty straightforward day. Got up worked out, still can’t do pull-ups. Today at work was meeting day for some reason, I spent all day on calls and in meetings. Left s little late and went straight to class. Helped, got a mentor session in and took 1 class. It was good. shrimp tacos to finish off the day!

today I got with my mentor which was nice because she taught me about her experience on the cycle. She went to class with an operated knee & a torn foot. She is a great example of what the cycle encourages in terms of endurance & resilience. I aspire to show similar skills to her.

Today was a fun day! I woke up, did my requirements. After that I went to my aunts house and hung out with my cousin. After that I went to taekwondo with my brother that just had his first class today. Im really glad I have someone to do taekwondo with at home now! Today was a good day!

Today I woke up early for a warm shower and breakfast, later, my dad brought me to the Harrisburg YMCA summer camp. I work as an LIT (leader in training) there for community service, I have done all my workouts and am about to take a well-earned break

July 22 and 23

This morning when I woke up, it felt like when a character in a movie wakes up after having the most insane party where there is furniture on the roof and a missing door. I think the cycle is starting to get to me because after I went to work yesterday, then went to a class, then did the requirements, I fell asleep while watching Survivor at about 10 p.m., then I woke up for a couple of minutes, then fell asleep again, then went to bed around 12 where I didn't even get to brush my teeth before collapsing in bed and being gone in less than thirty seconds. When I woke up, I was in a half-asleep dream (with my eyes open) about this made-up story game where I was all of these different people at once and one second I was a little kid in a canoe in this...

Today was a good day. I did the digital detox day 1 today. I didn't find it too challenging but I did wish I was able to actually use my electronics. Besides that I went to camp today and we watched a movie. It was pretty good. I got a lot of requirements done. Later I went to TKD and helped and took class. I also got a mentor session done. After that I went home and finished my mile. Now I'm just relaxing and having a good night. Speaking of goodnight I hope you have a good night and your day went went well. Goodbye :)

Today I woke up went on a run then played a video game with my friends. Then I went on a walk and then listened to music on the swings. I watched a movie before tkd and worked on poomsae then I ate dinner I was SOOOOOO HUNGRY!!!!!! Night!

today was a pretty good day, I did my requirements, and ran. I tried cooking and baking for a couple of weeks now and i'm doing pretty well, this could be a new skill for that one essay so i'll write that soon.

Today is wednesday and at band camp theres something called wednesday wall. its basically the wednesday of the second week of bandcamp, and everybody is just burnt out and over it. that combined with the fact that my legs feel like they cramp anytime i get up to walk means that tomorrow when i have to be outside from 9-3 is gonna be terrible. and the worst part? i still have work after... today i got all my requirements done, and im about to go on my run now.

This morning I had a soccer training camp. I really sore from it. But mostly that's it for today. I didn't do anything else really besides my requirements too.

Happy Wednesday

I had a good day today. I biked inthe am and did some requirements, then worked, went to the pool during linch, did more requirements, and worked until 6:30. During all of this I grilled a whole snapper and added a salsa veracruz. It was delicious.

We've been having a somewhat quiet week. Couldn't get to Black belt class yesterday at Belmont cuz they had testing going on. Henry and I worked on greens and blues today. We're going to do a lot of grocery shopping. Going to Costco tonight.

Today I went to camp at a muesum, then I went home with my dad. After that I went to go help out with testing at Taekwondo. Also I did not have time to run a mile outside on a track because me and my dad had to be home by 8:00 at the latest.

Long Tuesday #10

Today was my long day, I went directly to the Dojang after I got off. I thought the family class today, It is always an honor to be able to be able to teach a class. Let a long a very large class like the family class is at our Dojang. Thank goodness I had help from a few masters and instructors to help with small groups. After family calls was over I took class and was able work on some things. My lass class of the day was PMAA , where we are reviewing. Today was good , I am not to tired but I look forward to some good rest.

Tuesday

Not too eventful a Tuesday. Work was fun. I for sure needed some caffeine today, because I felt like I was dragging myself through requirements. I did get some practice holding kicks with my new ankle weights. I'm going to add that to my routine.

Work

Was getting ready to knock off work around 5pm when I got pulled into a client issue and ended up working until almost 8pm. Frustrating. Other than that, pretty good day.
