Quiet day today- can’t wait for next week to start up and to hear all about the tournament, I thought my shoulder was doing better but pull ups are still a no-go. I need to get some miles in tomorrow before it gets too hot, I’m feeling really good about poomsae

Journal Entry #6 7/17/25

Today was a normal day except that I went to taekwondo. I don’t go to taekwondo on Tuesday and Thursday. Harrisburg has this hopkido class and PMA class. I went to it today. My first time by the way. It was different because both classes aren't my style. But it wasn't bad. I learned a lot of new things from both classes. I’m going to start going more often. But I can’t wait to spar tomorrow.

Today we stayed home so I got to sleep in, which was soo nice. I started on my requirements after lunch so that we could hang out with my cousin/aunt/uncle for dinner. I got to have my favorite Thai Bubble Tea. Tomorrow is BB class, so I have to get up soo early.

7/18

I woke up at 7:58 A.M. Not ready to go to camp. It was pretty boring there since there was barely anybody there. But I fun thing we did was lessons on Indian dances  which was pretty cool, and I learned some cool new info. I didn't really put in most of my time doing my requirements so I had to finish them when I got home, I got dinner, and it took me about an hour and a half to finish all of my requirements and chores so now I'm getting ready to relax for the rest of the day.

7/18

Every day this week has been practically the same for me. Wake Up, go to band camp, go to work, come home and run, talk to Jakhye. Today, I got to teach the Advanced sparring class which was really cool. I did my requirements and run which weren't too bad, and i even had time to think about buying a project car to practice my welding and technical skills that ill be learning this next year. currently im looking at an E46 BMW 3 series. i would probably clean her up, maybe do an engine swap (which would probably be a GM Vortec 4200 because i could build to 500 HP+ for under $3K) so all in all (excluding buying the car) i'd only put in about $6 grand.

Today I went to camp. In camp today we did an Indian dance which mainly was about leg and arm movements. After camp I went to my aunt's house to get ready for TKD class. I was able to play with my cousins a little but then I had to go. After that I went to TKD class where I did black belt class and sparring. I came home which is where I am now and I am finishing up my requirements. I hope everybody has a good day as you're reading this and if not I hope tomorrow goes better. Goodnight :).

Friday 7.18.25

My day was pretty was pretty good! I did my exercises as usual, then I vacuumed the living room and my dad's office. I ran two miles in 30 minutes, a little bit slow this time. I did 30 Push-ups, fed my dog, and then I just chilled and played video games.

Today I woke up and played battle front 2 with my friend Lucas. I won both rounds flawlessly. After playing we were hungry and made some food and watched family guy. Then I hade to go to work and ditch my friend.

Overslept this morning and didn't get my run in.  So I got that done on my lunch break.  Which means I have to do my other requirements later tonight.   Enjoyed the PMAA class in Harrisburg last night.

The thing about sleep is that without it your brain won't work. Without it you gain things like irrational thinking, anxiety,& paranoia in extreme cases. Sleep is something I need to commit to more because my general schedule is terrible. Luckily with enough of a routine it becomes easier to sleep over time.

One down #5

Today was ok, My body is defiantly starting to feel the effects of cycle. I am sore from sparing class on yesterday, but I did some stretching through out the day as I completed my requirements. This eventing I thought the family calls and worked on forms with the students. It went pretty well , I look forward to leading more classes. Well that is one week of classes down , I look forward to what comes next week.

July 17

Last night I may have possibly, maybe, perchance stayed up a tiny bit late, maybe say 3:40 a.m. watching The Client and Kindergarten Cop, both for the first time, and I did enjoy both of them. I liked The Client a bit more though because it had more action. Regardless, this caused me to wake up around twelve. I proceeded to have a normal day. But even though it's eleven at night, it's not over yet. I will further destroy my mother for my all-time streak as reigning champion of Mario Kart later. That's all.

Still at Kiki house

We are helping Kiki with the babies and playing. Kiki makes great food! I taste everything for her. Text and called mom to tell her our day. We made T shirts. Mom said Caleb took 8 in his poomsa. I miss him but I am having fun with Kiki and Kim. Required are hard when you are playing too but we get them done. Well mom reminds us then we get them done.

I love Kiki and the babies

I love spending time with Kiki and the babies. They are getting so big. I helped them walk down the stairs when the boys and Ethan were playing  crazy. We are showing them how we do our exercis for black belt. And we stay up a lot!

Today was a normal day at home instead I got to do less requirements since I did extra poomsaes and self defenses yesterday. My friends were offline today so I found other things to do during the day like building with legos and building a marble track. I will most likely be going to camp tomorrow and 100% will be going to black belt class so yeah. Have a good day or night and enjoy yourselves. Goodbye :)

Today was a fairly Efficient day today, I think I made the most of the time I had. Started today with some running credits and poomsae, before going to class for a leadership 1 credit. Finished the day off with a nap and some journaling before bed.

July 17

I didn't do most of my requirements at camp so I had to do all of them when I got home. Then I had to take the trash out and read a few pages of my book and I set a new record for my jump ropes with 140 jump ropes in three minutes.

#6. Thursday is my favorite day

Today I was doing the same as yesterday.  I had middle school 5th grade camp and football practice and that was fun.  I did half my requirements this morning with my dad before camp and the other half tonight.  It was fun but that was it.

Today I wasnt able to do as many of my requirements at camp and we went out to dinner with my family so I had to finish up when I got home. I had my favorite fudge brownie for dessert which always makes me happy.

sometimes life is like a telenovela. There's some stupid drama that takes up most of the episode mixed with callbacks from 3 seasons ago. There's some random side plot leading to some development that's barley relevant. There's dramatic reveal after dramatic reveal with brash action taking center stage. In short... hectic.

Today was my last full day of lake camp, first we went tubing then we had lunch, after lunch we had paddle boarding, then we had snack after that we went to back dock. After camp I went to soccer after that I did my requirements.

Thursday 7.17.25

My day was good. I did my exercises, did my poomsaes, kicks and self defenses. I did green belt poomsaes and high green and for self defenses I did yellow belt self defense. I think I did pretty good on that. I did nearly ,40 push-ups and ran my mile in 13:35. I just got home from sparring, and i'm Exhausted, and that's my day.

Today I slept in. I slept until 10:45 this morning which never happens. I took a tennis lesson, and I got Jimmy Johns for lunch. After, I did my requirements and read for summer reading for my school.

Day 6 back home

Today I was able to ride my bike instead of run, which was much less painful. I knocked out a bunch of requirements and am now working. I plan to do more requirements this evening.

today I woke up a bit earlier than usual, which was pretty good. most of the muscle pain is gone now thanks to my body getting used to the cycle again which makes this whole process way easier. I just finished my requirements and im probably gonna catch up on some essays so yeah.

About yesterday #4

Yesterday was a lot I must admit. I went to the Dojang directly after work, I thought I was going to be teaching sparring due to Master Opi being out of town at the Hangmadang. I did not end up having to teach , Master Hurskey from the UNCC Taekwondo program came over and lead class. He explained they do a lot of sparring on the current tournament cycle and one of his students was a current heavy weight champion.  Let me tell you it was no joke, five minutes in I was at heavy breath. I was able to learn some really great drills and techniques to add to my teaching bag. I now realized that I am no longer a twenty something year old , this morning I am paying for it with soreness. #5. My dog Blu

My dog Blu won't let me write my journal; she's just sitting on it pawing at me to scratch her.  Today I did not do much, but I did do requirements with my friends on a video call.  We also had our first really good football practice but that's it.  We practiced in the rain the entire practice yesterday.

7/16/25

Today was a relatively easy day for me. I woke up, went to "Band Camp" to practice for marching band. It was really easy except for movement 2, which is very jazzy/bluesy (Which I'm not used to playing). After I finished with band camp at 3, I went to my girlfriend's house to hang out and get some Chick fil a. then from there, I left to go to my other band practice and that was okay I suppose. I felt like I needed to work on the little details for everything, but that's better than most of my other bandmates who need to work on learning the actual song so that we don't sound terrible. That wrapped up at 7:30 and I came home, did requirements, got food, and now I'm going to play R6 with Jakhye.

Today my friend came over for a short time and then ditched me for a his other friend and then he came back after he was done hanging out with him. He went to band practice with me and watched me play Purple haze by Jimi Hendrix. After I was done playing we went for a run. We were very sweaty so we decided to hop in the pool to cool off and for dinner we had orange chicken and rice.

So Caleb left today for California with dad. I want to fly on a plane one day! Mom took us to Kiki today since she said we could come for the week and help watch Kali. We are going to play abd swim. Doing required are better inside. It was hot today.

Ethan and I are spending a few days at our Kiki house. I am going to miss my dad and Caleb they left for Hanmadang. I hope Caleb does really really really good! I love spending time with Kiki and playing with Kali. And staying up.

Hanmadang

Arrived in California today for the Hanmadang competition. We’ve got a good group of King Tigers here. Today was registration and tomorrow starts the competition. Wish we could post pictures here!

Wednesday 7/16

Well, I missed yesterday’s post, I have to get back I. The habit of this. The exercises are easy to get to except I’ve tweaked my shoulder so I’ll need to catch up on my pull ups later. Days without class it’s a lot harder to get all the requirements in. I’m glad I have Abigail to keep me motivated, we’ll work together while everyone is at the tournament.

Today was a chill day. I got an essay done so I only have to do two more essays. I have a headache right now so I don’t know what to talk about. But I just ran a mile. And after this I'm going to go eat. Then take a shower and get on the game with Avery. Then watch AMP. I recommend whoever you are watching this to watch AMP. They're this popular Youtube/Twitch group and they're so funny. They are doing content in a summer house right now. They’ree really funny, you should check them out.

Today was movie day at camp so we got to watch The Karate Kid. I also was able to do my first mentor session with my Mentee. I went to sparring class and one of the instructors was on the national tkd team, and I sparred her, that was cool. I was so tired after sparring but black belt class is right after so I had to push through. I learned my new stick form then had a session with my mentor and learned my staff form.

Today I woke up and did my Requirements for tkd and then went on a bike ride for like an hour than I walked around with my dog I also watch a movie and played a bored game. Nightttttt

Today I stayed home from camp to do some extra requirements, specifically for my poomsaes and self defenses. I felt like after the time a lot of them looked really good. I spent some time talking to my friends and relaxing. I went to class where we practiced some more self defense and rolls. I also helped out in junior tigers and got a leadership credit. I enjoyed helping the junior tigers and leading groups for them. Today overall has been a good day. I hope everybody can say the same and I hope if not tomorrow goes better.  Have a good night. Goodbye everybody :)

Wednesday 7.16.25

My day was good I did my exercises it was tough. I ran a miles in 13:34 getting better with it. I did my pull ups. I was able to do 3 today and I did 30 push-ups in a row today. I am getting better and I  might be able to do almost 40 tomorrow. I can tell I am getting better with them. I have not  worked out in a while so it's a little rough doing all of this stuff again but I'm getting back into it.

Day 5 last beach day

This am I walked on the beach with my dog for the last time. I will be going home and I will be able to bike for the immediate future. I did some requirements, and am now working.

Full day #3

Today was a very full day for me. I got to the Dojang around 6 today and helped with a class. In between classes I was able to complete a mentee session while waiting for the actual class I was taking. After I completed this session , Instructor Gabe and Mark had brought some mats out and and we worked on rolls for a while and we started our Teen and adult class. when this class was over I went to PMAA class to end the night. After I got home I realized I had done a lot. Luckily I was able to get all my requirements done prior to going to the classes today.

Training for Hanmadang

Yesterday and today I put in quite a bit of work, both for the black belt cycle and for preparation for Hanmadang. I am excited to go. I hope I get some sleep on the plane because I have to get up in less than 5 hours to make it to my flight. I am currently still packing and checking my schedule, unfortunately. I have an uncanny ability of always finishing things up right at the last minute, never any earlier.

Today I woke up and did another run on the beach with my dog, I then went back and did some more requirements. I went to lunch then the beach, the waves were very strong and knocked me over a few times. That’s pretty much my day.

Today felt like the real start of the cycle for me, starting to get back into that mindset, and starting to get more comfortable during this cycle. I got the chance to watch some of our first time cycle participants learn to instruct, and work on perfecting stances and lead a small group. Its always to nice to watch the TKD spirit and our traditions get passed down instructor -> student. We worked on more forms and stances today in class, I finished up the rest of my kicking credits for the week in the Dojang, before going home and taking a "short" nap.

Today at camp we went to the splash pad. It was so hot but I didnt want to get wet, so I just watched. I got most of my requirements done at camp and then we had dinner with my family from out of town.

Today was a chill day. Not much happened today. I just ate and now watching tv with my mom. We're watching American ninja warrior. American ninja warrior is a show where people come and compete in obstacle courses. And the winner wins a million dollars. Today I ran a mile in under 10 minutes again. But when I was running it started to rain. So I was running in the rain. But I didn't mind because it kinda cooled me off.

Today was a simple day. I decided not to go to camp today so I can get my requirements done faster and then relax after. That is exactly what I decided to do. The second I woke up I gave myself an hour to relax and then I did all of my stuff. I spent the rest day relaxing, talking to my friends, watching tv, and playing video games. It felt good to get my stuff done early. Tomorrow I plan to go back to camp and go to my TKD class. I hope everyone has a good night.

Struggled to get out the door this morning.  Got ready to go and flopped on the couch for 10 minutes before dragging myself to the door.  But got out and did 4 miles.  Times are not where I want them at the moment.  I'm confident they'll get there though.  Got back, recovered and did some pushups and situps.  more requirements to work on today but a very strong start.

Today I woke up to a phone call. It was my friend Lukas asking me if I could play video games with him. I said that I was to tired which I wasn't I just didn't want to play right now but I was able to get my requirements done. Later that night I got on the game with Lucas and we played a game that made me so scared that I got off the game.

Day 4 at the beach

Got up and walked instead of ran a mile on the beach with my dog. Came back and did some requirements. Right now, I'm working, just 1/2 day, then I will go to the beach and read my required book for awhile.

A case of the Mondays #2

Happy Monday everyone. My day started off very exciting I over slept  through my alarm and rushed to work. Luckily I work from home so that was only me running across the house to throw a polo on , to log in the computer. After I calmed down from the sprint I did and was able to get into the flow of the day, things went well. In between sessions I focused on knocking out my requirements and was able to complete those by mid afternoon. On my lunch break I knocked out my jump rope for the day.  The rest of the afternoon I rested and planned out my week of classes so I can get those requirements completed. As I look back at my day I almost caught a case of the Mondays but was able to push through and have a great day.

Day 3, still at the beach

Today I got up early to run/walk on the beach. I took my dog again because she absolutely loves it. I'm still having a lot of trouble with my leg, and I had some swelling today, so I'll probably stop trying to run for awhile and bike when I get back home.

Journal # 3

Today was my last day of the digital detox. I woke up earlier so it could be done earlier. It was awful. It was worse today than it was yesterday. But now all that's done. I’m trying to hurry this up so I can play the game with Avery and Trent. So I'm in a time crunch. I ran a mile in less than 10 minutes. And my creative form is coming along pretty good. I have the first few moves and I’m sticking with them. But I don’t want any random form, I want it to have a theme. So I'm still thinking. But with everyone's input it will be amazing (with my flash ofc).

Back on the Cycle

Back on the cycle   Today is the 3rd day of the cycle for me and the first day for my journal entry. I feel like I got a good start. I already finished some of my essays and am halfway done with my miles this week. It has been a long day with camp and classes. I now remember that the cycle takes a lot of energy and time. A couple of kids at camp are also on the cycle and we were able to train together and work on requirements. I had my first mentor session tonight and it went good. I am working on finding a mentee this week. I have an idea for someone I just need to ask them. I am looking forward to the rest of the cycle. I feel like it will be rewarding.

Today I went back to summer camp after having last week off. Today was a park day and it was so hot. It was good to see some friends I hadnt seen in awhile. I didnt get to my requirements until I got home so I didnt get to my run until 9pm. Hopefully I can now relax and watch some tv before bed.

Today I woke up I had a cinnamon roll for breakfast, then I went to my lake camp which was really fun. At the camp I went tubing, paddle boarding, and then just hung out at the dock with some friends. After that I went home did my requirements then just played with my friends.

Ready set go…ish

Well it’s Monday and I’m just now getting on journaling, we spent this weekend in the mountains seeing some cousins from my moms side of the family that I hadn’t seen in years and some of my kids had never met. We had a small memorial and buried my grandmothers ashes. In her garden she had tended for the last 50 plus years, she was 99 when she passed. I can only hope I leave a positive legacy and a loving family behind when I finally go.

#3. Today Was Crazy

Today was crazy!  My mom put me in the wrong camp.  She put me in the class with a lot of 1st-2nd graders for learning! I was supposed to be with my 5th grade class and playing games after with my friends.  Tomorrow I will be in the right place!  It was so not fun there!  I will be with my friends tomorrow, so I'm all good!

First Blog of Cycle

I got back from the beach on Saturday. Stayed in Sea Pines in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. I went for a week. Now I'm back home and doing my first couple of requirements and I also started brainstorming about what I'm going to do for my creative form.

Morning my friends today I played games. I also did my requirements.  And went in the pool with Ethan it was really fun. Finely I watched a movie. Over all it was a great day 😀.

July 14

Today i woke up and did my Requirements then I went on a run then I swam laps and I biked too. Then I went to tkd for three ish hours it was good I helped out a lot and worked really hard. Then I came home and had curry for dinner. Night!

Today was simple I played with my siblings then started my requirements. I did blue and high blue self defense and poomsae. Then I did  front and back leg hook kicks. Then I did push-ups plank and sit ups and burpes. That's mostly it.

Today started with me waking up late and rushing to get some requirements done before helping out with class. We worked on quite a bit of self defense and some light work on stances today. After class I finished up the rest of my requirements and took a short nap.

Solid round of poomsae and self defense during lunch today, I had to look a couple of things up, and have some questions for my mentor, but still good practice.  It's a day off from running.  I do still need to hit the other physical tasks for the day though.

Bowling

Today, after a little bit of training for Hanmadang and going through all of my black belt forms, as well as a self defense session, I went bowling for the first time in about 3 years (at least if I'm not forgetting anything, it is possible). Last time I remember going bowling was during the last black belt retreat I had, for my 2nd Dan test, on the same day I had my cycle meeting for the cycle leading up to my 3rd dan test. Anyway, I went with some King Tiger buddies that you all likely know, and invited quite a lot more, but only a few could show up. Maybe we'll do it again sometime or go to the movies like we used to back when we were all still around all year training and teaching together.

Very warm day #1

This weekend was very fun, I was able to watch boxing both Friday and saturday night. Anyone who knows me , knows I am a die heart boxing fan. Especially  in the summer because I really do not watch baseball or soccer so I spend a lot of time watching and seeing what fights come one through out the summer. On Saturday my college roommate came over with his fiancé,  we had a great time. This morning I went to church and did my service on the security team. Later on after I got back home I went for a four mile walk around a few neighborhoods , it was a very warm day indeed. However it felt great to be outside, enjoying the sunshine. I am in need of some new running shoes, my college roommate runs half and full marathons so he suggested some shoes for me that I...

Today was a good day. a new day. This is a new cycle & I feel good about this. A new chance to earn a belt. My experience of the last cycle should be of use & luckily not much has changed other than the amount of time I can allot. This should be simpler from my vantage of hindsight.

Digital Detox

Today I started the digital detox. That's when you go without technology for two twelve hour periods. It is awful. This is  worse than the empathy training. It's so boring and quiet. As soon as I woke up I knew it was going to be a bad day. As soon as I woke up I ran a mile and a half outside. I ran it in under fifteen minutes. So if I keep this up I’m going to be able to run my three miles at the pre-test in under thirty minutes. Not looking for that track. But the rest of the day after that will be fun. This will be the first per-test that I can do with Parker and Avery.

7/13/2025

Today I decided to do my requirements first thing in the morning. I was still sore from yesterday but I was able to push though them. After I was done with my requirements I played guitar. I learned a whole album called magma and that made me very proud. Once I was done playing guitar my friend came over to watch movies. Me and her watched Big daddy and Us.

Off to a Good Start

Went to Poomsae class this morning and got all my requirements in this afternoon in between chores around the house. My milage so far has been power walking with a 20lb ruck. I've been power rucking pretty consistently for the past month to try and work through shin splints and get my calves fired up.  I also did some planning and started on an essay so that I'm not scrambling towards the end of the cycle. I'm excited to be competing in California this coming week - I signed up for Poomsae and Power Breaking.

#2. A Great Day

Today was a good day!  I went to my favorite breakfast restaurant iHop to get steak and eggs with cheese and the strawberry and banana pancakes.  I went to see Superman, and he is my favorite superhero, so that was cool.  My mom and I went school shopping and ate lunch at Freddies. This afternoon, I was able to get in my blackbelt requirements.

July 13

Today I woke up in the mountains walked down the mountain for some breakfast then I played with my younger cousins, after that I went to the garden to pick some vegetables and then ate them for lunch. After lunch I had to leave and come back to my house. The car ride was 4 hours long and we stopped to get food at Burger King then when I got home I did all my Requirements for tkd. night!

my body is starting to become sore, i'm starting to remember everything that happened through the previous cycle. but now I know what to officially do this time.

First Post of Second Cycle

Hello peps today I went  to poomsae class and actually did poomsaes we usually do line drills and other things when I  got home me and Ethan played with his kaoroke machine. During the cycle I want to git stronger and wiser. Over all it was a great day.

Entry 1

First post of my second cycle. Today I woke up and went to poomsae class and did pal oh sae koryo and guemgang. Then went to the store. Then I ate lunch and I went out side and did some poomsaes. I am trying to get better at koryo and guemgang and pal chang.

Back in the groove

Finally I'm remembering how it felt to be doing this stuff and getting the strength to do it again. Body is sore but ready to keep going. Church was good today and will be heading off to camp on Tuesday. Bye

Today was the 2nd day of my 2nd cycle. I started today with a jog and working on some of my requirements. Did some work around the house and took some time to review my notes for this cycle. Got back up to finish the last bit of my requirements. (might take another nap)

Day 2

Today, I woke up and went for a mile run with my dog on the beach, when I got back I did some requirements. I then went to the beach for a few hours which was nice and hot. That's all I have for today until next journal, bye!

Today I am working on my requirements pretty early because my cousins are coming up from FL to visit and I want to be able to hang out with them. The physical stuff is definitely more difficult this time around, but I will get it done.

Day 2 at the beach

Today I got up and took my dog for a run on the beach. She loved it. I was unfortunately not able to run very well. Just fyi, I broke my leg about 5 months ago and am still healing, and my leg still won't let me run. Anyway I did a brisk walk/trot. Came back and did some requirements, and now I'm goiing to relax on the beach.

7/12/2025

Today was the first day I started my black belt cycle to get my second degree. I woke up feeling sleepy because my sleep schedule is all over the place but I managed to get up for sparring class. After sparring class, I managed to get most of my requirements done. The only thing I haven't done yet was running. I was not looking forward to the run because that means I have to go to my neighbors dark and spooky basement. There I stared into a pitch black room where their family member died. After I was done with my mile on the treadmill, I immediately ran out to scared to look behind me and came home. I went to go take a shower and then go out to eat with my family. Then we came back home and I played guitar to relax and wind back down to go...

Day One, Again

Today was the first day of the black belt cycle, and unfortunately, since I was busy today, I did not make it to Harrisburg for training this afternoon. I did watch Superman, and I'd say it's a good watch. It's a stark contrast from Henry Cavill's Superman and that DC continuity iteration, being more like previous comic iterations. I got a good start on physical requirements today and hope to do more tomorrow as I train for Hanmadang.
