Do you ever get the feeling that when you hear something you know a lot about to share everything. This happened to me recently because of the Instagram algorithm. I heard a sped-up version of demo 4 of the mind electric. The song is iconic & you've probably heard it at some point.

Today went as usual. band camp, taekwondo, dinner, run. me and jakhye did atleast have time to play "ready or not" which was fun. to be honest, im really just burnt out and its only the second week. welp, hopefully when band camp ends this will all go a bit smoother.

11. Feeling good

Today was my first day of all pads at football practice, and I did good with hitting.  I like staying after practice running my mile with my friend.  It makes it a lot more fun doing it with someone.

7/22 Journal #5

I woke up and I was still very tired there was no one home but my sister. Nothing really happened for a couple of hours and I finish all my requirements before class. After class I am about to eat some food and nothing else really happens, but I have realized I've improve some of my kicks a lot!

Today at camp we went to the park and splash pad. I was also able to get a session with my mentee done. After dinner we went to see the new Superman movie with my cousins, uncles and aunties. I thought it was ok, but my mom really liked it.

It was 2:00 in the afternoon. I open my phone and the first thing I saw was that Ozzy Osbourne passed away. I was to stunned to speak and was in shock. It felt like it was an end of an era. After coping with his passing I went to my room to go play "No more tears" on my guitar. When I was done playing guitar I went to work. After work me and my dad went to Zaxby's I had a spicy chicken sandwich. After dinner I went home.

Journal #2 7/22

Today I went for a run with my sister around the neighborhood. When we got back home I wrote in my journal and did my other requirement. I went to the store with my mom to go back to school shopping for my brother. I came home and go changed to go to Taekwondo. Today we had the color belt testing so I was helping with that for the first two classes. Then it was the black belt class and we just went over what is going to happen while on the cycle. I came home and went to sleep after that.

Tuesday

today i started the morning with a warm shower before breakfast and heading to the YMCA summer camp. I work there as an LIT which is my community service hours. After I got home, i started my workouts before dinner. Because I missed yesterday's run, I ran two miles today.

Today was a good day, I woke up and did my requirements then just chilled for a while. Later I went to taekwondo and helped with testing and after I went to my black belt class, but I still haven’t got my taekwondo book yet, so I’ve been keeping track of my stuff on paper. Overall I have had a good day.

Today I stayed home from camp because my mom worked from home. I went back to bed and slept for a good 6 hours. I woke back up and started my requirements after having a breakfast bar. I spent a lot of time on poomsaes and I am happy with how most of them look. I watched a little tv and relaxed for most of the day. I got some clarification on the digital detox from Master Chelley and I plan to start it tomorrow. Overall today has been a good day. Goodnight guys :)

Taco tuesday

I started the day with a bike ride, then requirements, worked, went to the gym, worked more, made delicious mahi mahi tacos with home made garden pico de gallo. After all that excitement, I went to class and led the kicks and punches. All in all a pretty productive day.

today nothing much happened, I woke up at 5 in the morning to run, I ate breakfast then did my requirements. following that I went to taekwondo, got some leadership credits and a mentee session which was nice.

Journal Entry #10 7/22/25

Today I was with my Uncle and we washed the Hampton Inn Hotel. It took us all day to finish. But it didn’t feel that long. But we had to get a boom lift to wash the higher parts of the hotel. And I got in it but we didn't go high. We washed the back first then the front. When we washed the front me and my little cousin’s job was to warn guests about the chemicals. But not a lot of people passed through the front. Sometimes it got hot but it rained very slightly twice. So it wasn’t that bad.

My day was tiring to say the least.Woke up at 6:50 this morning,got breakfast went to my job site. We made good progress today with the repair we put some new stuff in got back around 5:50 and I am gonna relax in a little bit. And we there at the job site all day today and that's about it from me.

Today I went to class at TKD to get credits for the cycle. I got to work on my self defense with my friend and I really like this one because there is a lot of armbars. After class I went home and worked on my math homework. Then I recorded me playing guitar. When I was done my "Lady friend" called me and asked if I wanted to hang out with her tomorrow. Of course I said yes so now I am looking forward to tomorrow.

Monday funday #9

Yesterday was Monday and boy it was a struggle to get back into the groove of the week. By late afternoon I was finally able to feel like I was ok. I knocked out my physical requirements  and took Monday as a rest day. I did not go to class but plan to the rest of the week.

Today I'm going to Carowinds to enjoy the waterpark. I did a soccer camp yesterday and my calves and pecks are super sore. When I get back from Carowinds, I'm probably going to relax and do my requirements.

After my much needed "rest" day yesterday, I got up this morning and did a bunch of requirements before starting the day.  I still have some to do, but my work day is crazy today, I'm going to struggle to find time to eat lunch, let alone do some TKD.

Today I did not go to the gym or anything like that. In the afternoon my mom dropped me off at a soccer track. Whenever she left I did 4 laps around the field, and the field was  a 1/4 mile. I can say that run outside, it`s much more harder with the heat and not like a treadmill. After running I was exhausted from the running, I went to my dads house after that.

New old routine

This week, I am at my grandparents' house, remembering that training here was how I started my first black belt cycle. I was able to get in a fair bit of requirements today, and I am currently working on my USATKD account so I can go to an event in early August.

Get'er Done

I haven't had any issues getting my requirements done even though work has been busy and I've got some house projects I'm wrapping up. However, once the family arrives home on Friday, it's going to become more hectic. The family knows what to expect with me being on the cycle, but there is still going to be a lot more demand for my time. Especially with school starting soon and end-of-summer events. I know there will be days where I'm bone tired and I won't feel like putting in the work. For me, the trick is to get as much done as possible first thing in the morning. If I put anything off to later in the day, it becomes four times as hard.

July 21

Yesterday I did in fact lose to my mother in bowling. She won 3 games and I won 2 games. In one of the games, she beat me by like 40 points. It was sad. I did my stuff but right now my cat Boo just sat on me. Now he is laying on me. Byeeee.

Journal #10

Today at camp was park day but the LITs stayed behind. I was happy to, since it was so hot. We practiced different ground techniques in class. After camp I had Stix and then we got pizza for dinner. After that, I worked on my requirements and watched some Kaiju No. 8.

Today was a lot like yesterday, pretty chill with not much going on, I slept in a bit and did my requirements, but tomorrow I'll have more stuff to do like going to bbc and having my piano lesson.

Monday 7/21 Curtis journal

Monday, it was a pretty good day today, I feel like I’m getting the swing of things. Got up and ran a mile, and did my exercises, I still can’t do pull-ups. But I’m planning on talking to a PT and see what I should do. Luckily I seem to be able to do everything else,  I helped with class and had a mentor session with instructor Matthew, now home and bed and donut again tomorrow.

I woke up kind of late and I got a call from my friends so I spoke to them for a while and then my dad called me. He told me to do some of my requirements before he got home. I did only my sit-ups and push-ups but I later did my burpees and my pull-ups and jump rope. After a little bit I had to go to practice and I couldn't get my credit since someone else asked before me and they lead class. After practice I did my mile and then ate dinner. After dinner I read some of my book and getting ready to relax for the rest of the night.

today was super boring. I woke up, had band camp from 9-3, came home, had guitar lessons, got dinner, ran. THATS IT!!! Nothing fun or interesting or relaxing happened all day. requirements aren't too bad, but the running sucks because my legs never have a chance to recover. like i run, my legs are miserable and in pain and guess what... TIME FOR ANOTHER RUN. I'm about to just shower and go to bed. I don't have the energy to do much else.

Journal Entry #9 7/21/25

My least favorite part of the cycle is running. Like everyday I have to run. Like It will be better on the pre-test. But I run myself everyday. And after a while of doing that everyday with no break. Your legs start to hurt worse every time you run. But with the pre-test I have a lot of adrenaline. I try to run with Avery or Parker but they don’t go to Tae-kwon-do on my days. So it wouldn’t make sense for them to drive to Harrisburg park just to run. But we do have to run at least once this cycle.

Today, I stayed home from camp due to my mom not feeling well in the morning. She eventually felt better and did some requirements with me. I watched a movie with her while running on my treadmill. I'm pacing myself at higher speeds now. After the movie me and my mom finished requirements then had lunch soon after. Then i went to king tiger to do class, help out with a class, and do a mentee session. Overall today was a good day but I have to do my digital detox tomorrow and probably the day after that. Anyways I hope everybody had a good day and tomorrow goes better, have a goodnight. Bye :)

Knife sharpeners. I need some. the thing most people don't realize about knives is that the duller they are the more a danger they are, this is because you put more pressure on a dull knife when cutting things. Knives are tools above anything else & keeping them sharp is the best thing for them & you.

Today I started out by working as an LIT for the Harrisburg YMCA summer camp. After helping with the younger groups, I was taken home to eat dinner and head to taekwondo. After taekwondo, I headed home to continue exercises for my Black Belt Cycle.

 I woke up Did my requirements then headed to the pool to hang out with some friends, then I’m headed down to my house and my friend was waiting for me at the house I haven’t seen her in a while because she Moved so I was really excited to see her! Then I went to tkd and helped out and took class. Nightttt!!

A very good day

Today I  biked in the am, then went to the dentist. Work was good, and productive. The flooring guys finished my spare room which is our do jang, so I was able to put down the mats and finish my requirements there. I did two classes tonight, in one I helped out, and in the other I did warm-ups. I also had a mentoring session, which helped me remember bocho specials.

Morning peeps today I went to my church camp we did a out door scavenger hunt  it was so hot! After we went home cleaned up are room and did are requirements. And  that was my day by peeps.

Hi guys today I went to vacation bible school.  So after that I got home and did some stuff I went out side and did self defense. Then I played some games. Then we went to the store.  We got home and cleaned then we did requirements like pull ups push ups and sit-ups and that's it .

My day was really good. I woke up did my exercises first thing in the morning, and then me and my group went to this house 50 minutes away to help with some construction. It was just a small task we should get done with by Thursday. Today we went there broke apart some old bricks that were collapsed the bricks were really old and rotting  so we got them out, took about two hours we scooped some loose  dirt out of the way. After that we went to lowes and we got some plywood and some quick cement and we layed the cement down in the area it needed to be and we are gonna let that cement dry and come back the next day.

Today was a pretty chill day, I went to my grandmas house. When I got home I went to taekwondo but I didn’t know that there was testing that day and I didn’t have my full uniform on so I had to leave. And then when I got home I did my requirements. 👍🏻

July 12-18

day 1 I did not get my book yet and did not fully know requirements of the first week. day 2 was the same thing. day 3 I could not make it to taekwondo. day 4 I got my book and filled in some of the stuff I already did that week. day 5 I got a mentee and did another run and workout it was quite challenging. day 6 I started to notice the mile getting a little easier but my legs hurt a bunch. day 7 I noticed my legs starting to feel better and the workouts were ever so slightly easier.

Jul 19-20 day #1 - #2

On Saturday I went to a black belt class in North Charlotte, we focused on front kicks a lot and how our foot should be flexed. And when I got home I did my requirements. On Sunday morning I went to church, when I got home I got my requirements done. Later that night I went back to church to watch a movie called the Jesus Revolution (very good movie), overall I had a good weekend but I still haven’t got my book yet.

Start to the day #8

This morning I woke up before everyone in my house, so I decided to go get a run in before starting the day. It was the perfect time to go around 8am the sun was up but was not hot and very little people and cars were out. The thing I like most about running is exploring and seeing new areas I just have not driven thorough. I did just that and ran to a new neighborhood, a good distance from my home, ran to what was a dead end and went back home. Five miles later I would say it was a good way to start my Sunday. I spent the rest of the day with my family, relaxed and knocked out my requirements. This week I am going to knock out two papers , I finished on last week so I am in a decent place.

Today, I didn't really do much, mainly because sunday is my only rest/lazy day. ive been contemplating other project  car alternatives to that BMW. I'm currently stuck on if i want to get a Subaru BRZ and do a K24a2 swap or build a Sn95/NewEdge Mustang. I'm really fine with either, as long as they help improve my welding skills. i did all of my requirement for today and hopefully this week i can learn and have my knife form memorized.

Today was a simple day since it was Sunday. I had no camp and no classes. I was able to sleep in until it was time to watch church online. During church I got a good amount of requirements done while listening. It was a good message about having faith. After church I was able to finish my requirements. Since I finished my requirements early I was able to talk with my friends and play online. I hope you had a good day and I hope tomorrow goes better. Goodnight :)

Today I was excited  because me my mom and Ethan where going to pick up my dad and Caleb from the airport. Before we had to clean are room's I also had to do my requirements.then we had to go to target and git groceries. Then we picked up my dad and Caleb. Then we got gifts from are dad. Another quiet day today, got up early to see my oldest daughter off on a trip with friends. Stayed up and got my requirements done first thing. Other than that just did some chores and ran some errands. Nice quiet day after yesterday’s busyness. Back to classes tomorrow!

The problem with replacing old stuff is the acecorization problem. The problem can be seen in events like changes. When apple replaced all lighting ports with usb-c this caused the problem of the accessories becoming obsolete & as such the people who invested in lightning accecories to be reluctant to switch over.

This morning my dad took me to the park to practice TKD with my mentor and some other masters/instructors. I learned the double stick form and went over the Bolo form. We also did poomsaes. It was so hot out but it was helpful. After lunch we went to see my cousins again and we played pickleball, it was really fun. Tomorrow we go back to camp.

Me and Avery started playing this game new to Xbox called Ready or Not. It’s a mission game with real life situations. And you have to carry out your missions. Or you fail. It's a very hard game to play. Me and Avery played that game for like 3 hours and only completed 2 missions. First mission we got a b rank. And that last one we did we got a c. Originally it was only on P.C but now it’s on Xbox. So it's going to be one of the main games we play.

Today i woke up at 540 to say good bye to my sister who's going to Canada for 2 weeks!! but she'll have fun im Jealous though, but after that i did my Requirements and took a shower. Then I watched a movie and went on a really long walk. That’s pretty much what I did today nightt!!

This morning I went to church. And after church was over me and my youth group went to the Appalachian mountains in Tennessee it was a 4 hour drive there, but it was fun. I did my exercises as soon as I got to my Cabin before I did anything else,  It was a exhausting day.

July 20

Today I went to Sweet Frog and over to a friend's house for a while. Later, I got home and ran a mile. When I was heading home from it, I found my friend walking to the playground. I had to briefly explain why I looked like I'd been stranded in the forest for days. Every time I blink I fall asleep a little bit. I will now go bowling, my Achilles' heel.

Rest and Recovery #7

One thing I have learned from my first week back on the cycle is how important rest and recovery is. Prior to this cycle I just got up, ran for miles and trained. This go around I am much more conscious of my body and how it is responding. This as some persecutive for me on how valuable it is to take care of your body through rest and recovery. Stretching has also become my friend so that I can continue to be flexible and mobile as I progress thorough the cycle. I was able to get a mentee session in yesterday and knock out my requirements after Black Belt class.

I'm back

I'm back from camp and it was great. First shout out to Abraham, Happy Birthday. I had to go 4 days without technology so I will count this towards my essay, my body is sore from playing vollyball for hours and zip lining. I was able to get some of my requirements in for the week but not all of them so will be playing catch up for the week. Have a good day.

Sunday funday

I think I missed a day or two journaling, but I have been keeping up with requirements. Today I have biked and done physical requirements and kicks so far. This weekend I have been doing a lot of studying for some certifications for work. I got one on Friday and am studying to take another exam tonight. I feel like I'm having a very productive weekend so far. I might be able to get an hour or two at the pool today as well.

I woke up for the black belt class at 8:30, and then did my session with my mentor right after. When I got home I chilled for a bit then I ate a burger and then went to my uncle's house. We stayed there for 6 hours and I got some of my requirements done there also. Now since I didn't do my mile there I needed to do my mile tomorrow. But now I have nothing to do so I'm getting ready for bed.

Hanmadang 2025

Overall, going to the 2025 World Taekwondo Hanmadang in Anaheim was super fun, and being in such a large competition is something I really enjoyed doing, and something I want to try more of when I can. The poomsae competition especially was very competitive, as I was up against some of the best in the world. I do a lot of poomsae recordings, but very rarely do I get to see competition at such an advanced level in person, and here I got the ability to see what progress I can still make as a martial artist, and how I've grown since I started competing. On the demo team, my abilities progressed quickly in a short amount of time, and at Shoreview I was able to pick up some new things from different people, even some things that made me rethink how I trained. I hope to continue trying my hand...

Today was pretty simple. I woke up, went to Harrisburg and sparred. afterwards i got lunch at chipotle and went to see my girlfriend, lydia. then i left her house, came home, got ready, and went to dinner with some friends. it was pretty fun and we ate burgers and talked. now, me and jakhye are gonna play a new game called 'Ready or not'.

Saturday, today was busy. Cooked breakfast and went to a bike shop to discuss bikes for a triathlon, we ended up finding a used one that will work, We went to open dive at the HFFA which was alot of fun. I took a nap afterwords on accident, Abigail and I got our requirements in and now I’m headed to bed!

July 19

Today I woke up freezing and decided to go on a run, the run was about 1 mile long, I did it with my friend and it was fun. After that, I went to a bike shop to get a bike for my sister, but the bike shop that we’re going to didn’t have the bike that we wanted so we ended up going all the way to South Carolina. It was only 30 minutes, but it felt like forever. After that, I immediately went to the gym to do diving which I don’t actually Do as a sport, but there is free Dive today so I went and it was super tiring. I got to jump off 10 meter Which was really scary! I went home and got dinner and played a board game with my family now I’m done for the day! Nightttt!!!

At lunch time I went to go see my "lady friend' play volleyball. I was amazed that she was so good! The only down side to the game was that they had no AC. Me and my dad were sweating so bad and I was thinking to my self "gosh, I've never sweated this much in sparring." After her game we went out to eat with her. Once I was full I told her goodbye and left and we stopped by at Vera Guitars to buy one but they were too expensive so we left. When I got home I played guitar and then winded down for bed.

Today I went to black belt class and we did poomsaes, self defense and worked a lot on our form. Then I had a session with my mentor.  We met up with my family for lunch and went to the pool. After dinner we got ice cream at Andy’s. After we got home, I finished off my run and rolls and falls.

Journal Entry # 7/18/25

Today was the best sparring class I ever went to. It was fun. Avery taught with a tiny bit of my help. We did two vs two sparring like team sparring. It was fun. And I sparred Conner and Parker. I haven't sparred with Parker in almost a year. The only thing I remembered was that he punches a lot. So I had to make sure I was out of a punching reach. But today was a pretty good day.

#8. Falling asleep

Today I did a lot with my friend.  I did black belt class, worked out and went to the pool.  Now I am watching people fight, and I will see Manny Pacquiao fight if I don't fall asleep before they fight.  It's 8:32pm and I'm falling asleep.

First I woke up early and went to tkd class to get some credits and stayed for leadership, Abraham (who if you don't know goes to the Harrisburg location) brought cookies since it was his birthday which was nice (thanks again,Abraham). After I had some I talked to some piers and master Foster than went to my cousins house to go to the pool. We stayed for about an hour and a half. Then I stayed at my cousins house for about a good 3 hours, we played a lot and got dinner. Now I am home doing all my requirements except for the mile then relaxing for the rest of the night. July 19

Today I took over a minute off of yesterday's run time. It's still very, very slow but it's definitely progress and was my fastest time yet. I did run directly into a spider web at one point and I think my life flashed before my eyes.

I slept past 11 o'clock today. But I didn't really do much, but I got in my pool and relaxed for a bit. I finished my requirements after I got out of the pool and now, I'm hanging out and playing video games.

Saturday

Morning people of the world. Today my mom picked me up from my Kiki's house. We dropped off Ethan at a birthday party and had Starby from target. I got a lemon loaf. We went to pick Ethan  up after. We did required at Kiki house but not pull ups or jump rope. We will do those at home. I spilled fruit punch all over myself. That was my day by peps.

My day was pretty good. I Woke up at 6:50 this morning. I had a little bit of breakfast and then I went to Master Evans School for Saturday black belt class. It was really exhausting but it was good. We did a little bit of kicking, poomsae and self defenses. I enjoyed it. After class was over I got my black belt book signed and then my  dad and I went to McDonalds and got a Dr pepper. Then I went home, did my run and finished the rest of my exercises.

It was the evening so I decided to go to sparing. When I got there my friend Avery was teaching the class. We first started with kicks going down the mats and then we did 60 bon bon kicks after that we sparred. I got a little bit carried away with it though. After sparing class I had a headache and I was tired so I went to bed.

It feels weird not going to Saturday morning black belt class but the King Tiger is closed because everybody's in California. I hope they're having a good time today. We are going to be having a somewhat chill day at home doing our Saturday chores.

If I had a nickels for every time this summer I had to go up a mountain, I would have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice. I know what's taking up my time today. I have to spend hours in a car with my family.

Start of the weekend #6

It is finally Friday and the start of the weekend. It was seen a challenge to get back in the groove of being on cycle and working at the same time. I think that overall I did a good job. Today  I knocked out my requirements early in the day and hoped on SNKRS to grab a pair of shoes that released for WNBA all star weekend. After I got off I took my two youngest kids to the last day of vacation bible school and I went on a run at a near by park. It was pretty decadent beside the cramp I caught half way through. I hope by next week be back in the grove of running so I can get my time back at least close to where it was. After coming back home I spend time updating my book and the website so I could have...

Tournament wind down

Went to the opening ceremonies at the tournament tonight. It was amazing to see all of the competitors grouped by state and country. After we paraded around, and listened to a few speeches, we watched the South Korean demo team perform. Great night. Tomorrow we fly home.

July 18

Today was a standard day. I tried to teach my cats how to sit on command. Boo grasped the concept easier than Casper. The latter would look around confused and stand there. I gave him a few treats for effort, too. This means that now Boo can efficiently play hide and seek (though only as a seeker), can play fetch, and can sit. Casper is a work in progress but I am very proud of him too. I made s'mores later that night.

#7. Elephant Toothpaste

Today was a big football day, but it's 11:00pm, so I really just played a lot of football.  I stayed late after football to do my requirements with my friend.  Also, I did my favorite science experiment at camp.  We made elephant toothpaste with my 5th grade science teacher.  It was so much fun.
