Hey everyone it’s a good day today. I had black belt class today and I did lots of my exercises. I learned a ton of new things for my belt that I need to practice so I don’t forget them. Tuesday 1/21/2020

Just got home from Black Belt class.  We worked on single stick forms in class and then Staff forms and Special #2 Self Defense with Master Dege's mentees.  I don't think I'll get much done in the way of requirements tonight but at least I was able to fit in some requirements this morning.  I have a 7 am meeting tomorrow, so requirements will have to wait until tomorrow night.

It's Monda….err Tuesday!

Oh look another day of stress! I really hope this is the end of the drama about my house. My arms are really tired from doing extra push-ups and burpies so I don't go insane. On the bright side, it's getting me through my requirements faster so I can't complain there. The run was tough this morning, my body doesn't like it when I try to run and it's cold outside. Doesn't matter if im in a warm gym, it still knows. We are getting closer to the end of this journey! Guess I need to figure out a new skill, so does Taylor. Hmmm...

1 Rest Day

Sunday I took a break from requirements.  I didn't even go to the gym.  My body actually really needed it.  Took my son to the dojang to play for a few hours in the early morning.  Got a quick grocery run done.  After that, went to Ikea to puchase some more shelves for the dojang.  Watched both football games, and even though both teams I was pulling for lost, they were great games to watch.  Yesterday, got back to the gym and requirements, and taught some fun TaeKwonDo classes.  Will repeat again today!

Today I’m back to school.  I got up early to get some requirements done before school.  I have soccer practice tonight.  I got another essay finished yesterday.  I only have 2 more to go!

Journal - Day 31

Good morning. Yesterday was really cold. My brother and I ran for a mile but it was freezing. We came back inside. I finished all my requirements. Waiting at the bus stop. It’s extremely cold today as well and I have classes after school. Have a good day all!

Training

Dear John Noticed you at the park the other day, seems Master Tucker, Master Dedge was working hard you were just laughing, what up with that. Get it together man and work hard. You may have been there 2.5 hours but you were laughing for 2 hours. So stop and get yourself motivated to do the work to get better. I am sure you were actually working as I noticed you did about 45 forms from sticks, staff and poomse in the credits so keep it up. Can not wait to see you out there next weekend. I also calculated up the amount of miles and obstacles you are doing this year.  Are you crazy you really do want to make 60 a bang.    Have fun, keep laughing and see you soon   John

Martin Luther King Jr. - Day

Today was a day to remember a very important person in American history. It is not just a holiday to where most people are off from school and work. Well Erik and I dragged Patrick out for a run this morning. Both boys were complaining about being cold but both of them ran better and faster than I have seen in a while. I was proud of them. Erik and I worked on finding answers for the written test, next weekend we will be creating flash cards to help memorize the answers. For dinner we did some awesome grilled turkey and black bean burgers.

marvelous magical monday

usually i whine and complain ab how horrible mondays are but not today bc today was an amazing day. updates on the thing i had sunday - it went aight. aight, indeed. i got some important things done today and i am still on a high from sunday and add that to the amazingness of today and you're set. today was beautiful and i had the day off and it felt amazing to go to sleep for such a long time. imma go to bed so sleep well everyone and WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOHOOOHOOHOOHOOHOOOO!!!!!

 Today was really relaxing. I got to finish a couple of requirements. But today I practiced my dance for my upcoming performances. I hope this week will go by fast for the 3 day weekend again!

Chill day...sorta

I slept late today and it felt good. No more shorts for my runs. I had to wear jogging pants and my hands got cold. I wish I wore gloves too. I will be finishing up midterms this week. I felt tired doing my requirements today.

Day Off

Nice Day off. Very relaxing. Meant to get more requirements in but did enough. Took the girls to Barnes and Nobles for the afternoon. Wrote another Essay while we were there. So that is good. Planning on cold early run tomorrow will see how that goes.

Monday 1/20/2020

Today was long.  Monday's are always long.  I woke up at 5 am and worked on Poomsaes and Self Defense and then came home to continue requirements.  I've started doing my pushups on my pushup machine instead of on an incline.  The machine is called the "Pushup Pump" and it supports my upper body and doesn't stress my shoulder.  Hopefully the incline pushups have helped me develop some shoulder strength and will prevent me from injuring myself.  Speaking of pushups, I'm off to do my 200 right now.

I had a great day today! I got to sleep in until around eleven and then had a donut for breakfast. After I hung around and did requirements between drawing and playing a couple of games. Later in the afternoon my mom, sister, and I went to Barnes and Noble. I picked out a book we got drinks and read for a little bit. My family had salad for dinner and I packed for school tomorrow So today was a lot of fun even though I dread school tomorrow. Anyways goodnight and I'll see everyone at class!

1/20/2020 - Dege

Well, I didn't have a day off from work due to the holiday, but I did get in over 3 miles after work and did burpees again after each loop. I started with 3 and figured if I did 4 instead, I would accomplish them that much quicker. Now for the rest of today's requirements. Ugh! After 125 burpees throughout my run/walk, pushups are slow going.

After working on my deck in the COLD,  Which I was happy it wasn't rain again today. Found it a little hard to do the requirements,  but got them in one step at a time. ????

January 20th, 2020

Today wasn’t a bad day. Since I didn’t have school today, I woke up a little later than usual to go to the MLK celebration in downtown that I was invited to. After that I went home and rested for a while. When I felt like I was ready to start my requirements, I did my daily miles and moved on. Now I’m waiting for dinner time to come.

Brrrr!

Today was a really cold day which means no running outside. That's ok, Taylor and I were able to get a run in anyway. With it being cold makes it hard to keep things from getting stiff. Lots of stretching through the day. Even though the schools were closed, I was able to get a mentee session in! Today Taylor is doing her empathy challenge, it has been glorious. She chose mute and it has been so hard for her to not talk...LOL. I look forward with helping her with her essay.

We were supposed to have soccer workouts today but it was 32 degrees and they canceled. But that also means ive been able to complete alot of requirements.

DISNEY AND UNIVERSAL STUDIOS.IT MY BIRTHDAY TRIP YO YO YO

Hi guys guess where I am, I am at Orlando,Florida for my tenth birthday and I am rocking I have already been to universal studios and Disney.we are staying at a luxury hotel and they have vr that we might do today and tomorrow.yesterday we went to Disney springs and the last time we went we went to the coke factory I had to much coke and when we got back I was throwing up for almost two hours.the day before that we went to this place called ohana it’s a Hawaiian place near magic kingdom and they have the best fooooood.so taday we might do the vr and play b-ball and go to a park today bye

I am feeling much better today.  I’m happy to have a day of from school -yay!  I don’t have much planned today.  It is really cold outside so I’m going to try and get in my requirements.  My mom and I will bundle up later and go for a long walk.

Journal - Day 30

Good Morning. Yesterday was a good day. My brothers friends came over to our house to play with him. All the boys know is only how to eat. There was one skinny lanky boy close to 6 feet tall who would play for a little and then get hungry. He would come straight to the kitchen and ask my mom to give him something to eat. Then he would go out and play with the rest of the boys and then come back again. It was fun! I finished my requirements and also ran a lot yesterday. Have a good day!

Sunday - family time

Erik and I got up this morning and went for a run around the neighborhood. Afterward we had a good breakfast and lunch. Erik and I worked on some poomsaes and self defenses together in the afternoon in between working on the rest of the physical requirements. I still feel a little weak after this Friday but I will be back to normal tomorrow I hope.

Weekend Fun

Yesterday I spent all morning doing TKD. I also got another mentee session in with Gabriel. After we got home my Far helped me with my new skill I wanted to learn. I learned how to make Danish pancakes. And they turned out pretty good! Today we went for a run and hung out.

Training

I got to train with Ms. Theresa and Luci today. We both trained hard on our push-ups, sit ups, and burpees.  I did my longest run ever and completed my poomsaes and self defense and basic kicks. It was great working together.  I will work some on my essay and read my book tonight. I will sleep a little later tomorrow.

January 19th, 2020

Today I went to church in the morning. After that I went to a festival and came home at 4pm. When I got home I started on my requirements and a few minutes later, we had guests. So I had to move upstairs and do my  stuff.

Really enjoyed my Sunday. First one I have been off in awhile. Got to go to Church with the girls. Then a day of requirements. Got a lot done. Terrance came over and ran with Luci and I and we practiced Self defense as well as all the poomsaes. Now watching football and enjoying wings with my husband.

Happy Sunday everyone! What a great day it turned out to be to train at the park! Oh, that poor cardinal! Many stick, staff and higher belt forms reviewed with Master Tucker and Master Burkart. Thanks for staying even longer to review self-defense, Master Tucker! Some self-defense is more difficult to practice without someone attacking. Maybe I won't be working on requirements as late tonight as most other nights.????

Sunday 1/19/2020

I'm surprised that today was so beautiful after all the rain last night.  Today I met Master Dege and Master Burkhart at Mint Hill Park and we trained for 2 1/2 hours!!  It's so helpful to train with people who can confirm that I'm not practicing incorrectly.  We worked on high belt poomsaes and stick and staff forms.  The only sticks form we didn't get to was Double Stick #2.  Master Dege and I were also able to work on high belt self defense, especially 3rd Dan 1-step.  The weekend was way too short!

Dear John    So your Cowboy did not beat the Irishman last night, it was not even close. You know you have Irish blood so why are you cheering on a cowboy. I think is is scripted anyway. I think there will be a rematch for bigger money and then your cowboy will win. We will see maybe it is not scripted and if not Conor is really one of the best pound for pound fighter out there. I know he can be arrogant but you can when you are the best.    See you at the next fight    John

Journal - Day 29

Good morning. Yesterday was a very tiring day. Woke up and went to Sparring and BB class. We did a ton of stuff and kicks. My dad said I have to start focussing on my pull ups and do the negative hold as much as possible. I came home and started working on my assignments. I still have 3 more to get done today. I am planning to do my run this afternoon before the Championship game starts. Have a good day!

Yesterday was a very busy day.  I had 2 soccer games and I also had Tae Kwon Do.  I met with my mentor.  I also went to sparring and black belt class.  After all of that I got to relax and play on my switch.  Today I woke up not feeling so good.  I hope I feel better soon!

Rohan Apte - Daily Journal 20 - 11820

Today was a great day. In the morning I went to king tiger I got sparring, leadership credits 1 & 2, mentoring, and finally weekend BB class. Then I had lunch. After lunch I worked on my 5+ page essay might as well get started early I was able to get 1 page of it done and I also got to watch TV for a bit. Then we went shopping at Walmart. After shopping we had dinner came home and wen to bed.

I woke up at 8 to get ready for sparring class. After sparring class I helped out with family class, then took black belt class. I also had a mentor session with Master Dege today. When I got home I ate pizza and relaxed for a little while. Later I did my requirements and that pretty much sums up my day.

Saturday

Had a blast teaching sparring and black belt class at the North Charlotte dojang.  Everyone did a great job!  Another trip to the gym, and more requirements done.  I can't believe it was actually cold today, I guess Mother Nature is finally ready for winter in the Carolinas?

I enjoyed the kicking rounds and the poomsaes we did in class. I completed a lot of physical requirements. I went to the gym afterwards for push ups, sit ups, and burpees.

1/18/20 - Dege

Morning started with Junior Tigers then collaborating with Master Tucker on various poomsaes. Master Knight taught black belt class today and we worked on quite a variety of things. Had a session with several of my mentees and we worked on bolo form and about half of staff form 2. I am feeling lazy, but need to get busy with today's requirements before my nephew arrives. Looking forward to training with Master Tucker and Master Burkart tomorrow except for the expected temperature.

Feeling much better

Got up this morning and felt a lot better. Manged to go to the dojang for sparring etc. in Harrisburg. Instructor Foster gave us a really good workout. We started working on staff form 2 which seems very complex compared to staff form 1. I will get it though and be awesome..... eventually. Master Knight went over 1st dan self defense and knife special with me yesterday and I am trying to work lots on those to get the moves stuck in my head along with everything else.

well, today was okay. some notes w the title- idk what to type but i felt i had to put in a lil more so i j did a fill-in-the-blank. i woke up round 8, went to sparring, had a mentee session, ran a mile and a half, came back and did bbc, and went home and cleaned bc we had some people coming over. tomorrow is a very big day for me, and i'm kinda pysched out n a little bit -- wellllllll not really i was gonna say scared but it's not like i'm scared. it's like anxious anticipation but i'm not that anxious but i'm not overly joyful either. Run

Today before taekwondo was starting back to class I did my run for the pre-cycle that I missed on the day of the recycle and I ran 2.5 miles in only 16 minutes. I’m really proud of my work and effort that I put in today

Saturday 1/18/2020

Today has been great so far!  i helped in the Junior Tigers class this morning, then worked with Master Dege on our creative poomsae- we have lots of ideas!  Black Belt class was awesome!  We don't do falls very much in regular classes so it was really good to do them in class today.  It's not really something I 'practice', but I gave it my all in class!  I do need to get better at back-rolls.  I'm looking forward to meeting Master Dege and Master Burkhart at Mint Hill Memorial Park tomorrow at 12:30 pm for training.  If anyone wants to join, you are welcome to come!

Saturday

Great start to the weekend. Fun afternoon at Master Chelley’s on Friday helping out with the little tigers class, then working on requirements before Blackbelt class. Good Black Belt class working on stick and staff forms. Today fun Day with Master Knight. Learning some new combinations in sparring as well as how to block the head kick. Very important move for me since most are taller then me and can easily kick my head! The stretching was much appreciated too. Have a great weekend everyone.

1/17/20 - Dege

Typical work day, including another round of redo. As I was leaving work though, I received a message from one of my nieces saying she would be passing through Charlotte within an your and a half. She drives a truck, so it was work related, but it was great to see her if only for a few minutes. I have other visitors this weekend, most unexpected, but very welcome. Will have to fit in what I can, when I can. Unfortunately time keeps on and I still have much to do.

Friday before a long weekend

I was a little short on sleep this morning but I still got up and got some requirements in before going to work. I was feeling weak but still worked on it. I was really cold in the office but since we are in an older building the climate controls aren't that great. After work Patrick, Erik, and I went up to the LKN dojang and did a mentor session with Master Knight and black belt class. When we got home I felt really cold and it turns out I had a fever, I hope I didn't pass on something on to anyone else. Now it is time for the NyQuil to kick in and I hope I feel better tomorrow.

I had two tests at school today and they were ok. After school I got home and hung out.Then we went to tae kwon do black belt class. After I was very tired. My Far was not feeling so good So we went to go get surprise ice cream. Then we watched Hercules.

Today was exciting because we finally have a three day weekend again! Same routine as regular. Wake up, go to school, etc. After school I had Spanish class and then ate dinner. When I finished dinner I took a break before doing requirements. I hope u enjoy your three day weekend(those who are in school)!

Today I went to school but stayed after for a rehearsal for the Charlotte checker's game. We are playing God bless america and the rehearsal actually ended up not that bad. I hope the Checkers win because I'll be cheering!

Pep rally

This week was spirit week. It was pretty fun. We had a pep rally today which is normally fun but I had a huge headache and I was super tired. but I enjoyed it none the less.

January 7 2020

Today I woke up and did a ton of requirements. Then I had it after school but before school my mom and took us to go get donuts as a special treat for being good the whole week. Then I had a great day at school and went to a mentor session with my mentor and we did a lot of self defenses that I need to work on but besides that it was a great day

Great day

Took my son to the dentist for the first time today (he's 2).  He actually did really well, I was quite surprised!  Great workout at the gym today.  Have not missed a single day since the end of December!  Had a great black belt class at the Lake Norman dojang, and even got a session in with my 2 mentees.  Those guys are doing great!  Feeling good and ready for some awesome classes at North Charlotte tomorrow morning!

Master Evins

Dear John    I noticed that your instructor Master Evins is doing two or more workouts today so I heard you tried to keep up with him today by doing your 9 Round work out and then a Spartan Workout. Are you crazy!!!!!! I bet you will be so sore tomorrow. Did you do your forms also? You better have done them. I think I heard you seem to finally have your last form completed but are stumbling on others. So you better keep working out and getting ready. Rohan Apte - Daily Journal 19 - 11720

Today was a great day. I had school as normal but we are getting ready for the biggest field trip of the year! We are going to camp Thunderbird in South Carolina we are staying there for 3 days, 2 nights! It is going to be so fun, we are going on April 1-3 so we are going to be there on April fools day we are each planning to make funny pranck's on people. After school I did my requirements. I even had time for some TV. Then I had dinner and went to bed.

Getting back in it

I did most of my daily requirements today.  I have to to concentrate so I can catch up.  I feel a lot of pressure from being behind but I will get there.  I'm heading out to black belt class.

Bad Day, Getting Worse

Today is not a good day. I am stressing and panicking really bad right now. Things going on with my new house, just overall not good. When I stress this bad, I tend to go down a stress eating binge. Instead of stressing, I have been doing extra requirements. Extra push ups, sit ups, poomsaes just to get my mind right and not completely let the stress and anxiety take me over. So far it's working, but as the day goes on, I am getting even more worried and stressed out. I'll tell you 1 thing, I will be 1 sore puppy when it's over. Other than my life crisis right now, I have gotten a few more essays done and I have kept up with all my classes and stuff. I feel more panicking coming on as I type this out, so more push-ups for me right now.

Good morning. Yesterday was a long day. From school I went to my classes. Came back home and started working on my school project. Did not get a lot of requirements done. I will catchup today. Waiting for my bus now. The long weekend is here and I ready to get some good sleep. Have a good day!

Friday 1/17/2020

Yesterday did not go as planned. My son’s car broke down in the middle of a busy 4 lane road yesterday during rush hour traffic. We had it towed last night and will have to figure out what is wrong with it today. I really hope the cost is minimal, but it’s an old car so I’m trying to prepare myself for the worst.  I was not able to make it to Black Belt class or to my mentor session last night. I am up early again today trying to get requirements done, but I’m feeling run down and tired and I’m not making much progress.

Thursday brought a work day, much like other work days, and redoing just a little bit different than it was before. How many different ways can it be done? I hope I don't find that answer. After work I went to black belt and a mentor session. Will I ever get double stick 2? Now working on requirements before bed.

I got up this morning and got started on my requirements. I worked from home and got some good work in during the day. I went to meet my wife for lunch and then went back home to finish up my work. When Erik came home we went for a run around the neighborhood. After dinner we went to the dojang and got in a good workout.

Today, I got all of my requirements done especially during BBC. I am still working on my essay and my homework I have a lot. I also went to the first boys' basketball game. It was really fun watching my friends play. I am stressed because of my essay. Tomorrow I have a lot of math homework to do. that was my day. Bye!

Mentoring was hard

I had a hard time mentoring because I was in front of people watching the entire time.  I don't have that much experience which made me feel awkward and nervous. I will get better with practice.

The  Force is with me. I got home  Something inside of me said go to the backyard, I looked around and saw that the gutter guys came and put new gutters on the back of my house. Happy happy.  But never did get the call saying they were coming. O well.

Thursday’s

Thursday’s are busy. Work then I train a client then dinner. Sparring and leadership class. Meant to get up and run before work set alarm for4:45 but didn’t get up til 5:18. I want to try and get 2 mile runs in a couple of mornings a week 5-5:30. Going to schedule next week. Really want to be more consistent running.

Today at school I took a reading test and I have a math test tomorrow. I had gym today so I got most of my running out of the way. When I got home I ate a snack and went to piano class. After that I went to King Tiger to do a leadership credit, mentee session, and black belt class. Now that I got home I’m writing this journal and I am going to eat tacos after!

Today at school I went to band class and the kid that sits beside me (plays the TBUA I also play the tuba) and dropped it on me. He said sorry like a million times and I was ok but it was really scary. He did get in trouble even though I told the teacher not to. It was an anticlimactic day after that though. Today was an okay day, I went to school like usual. After school I had a music lesson like always on Thursdays, if you were wondering what instrument I play I play the piano and the clarinet at school. I'm about to go to family class to help out and blackbelt class right now. I hope I see people there!

Thursday 1/16/2020

Up early this morning for pushups, situps and burpees.  It'll be another busy day today- work, black belt class, then mentor session with Master Cavazos.  Master Cavazos will hopefully work with Master Dege and me on Double Stick 2 tonight.  I've done quite a bit of research for my essay about the Hwarangdo warriors.  The first Hwarangdo warriors were actually women!  Cool fact!

Happy Wednesday! Work took an unexpected turn today and I missed my yoga class. I heard from one friend on not so good news. Heard from another friend some fantastic news! Very much looking forward to being able to see this friend much more frequently in the near future! I hope my other friend will reach out if she needs anything.

Wednesday - Family night

Day started off like any other week day. Worked on some requirements before going to work. After work Erik and I worked some more on requirements and took a run with the young dog. After showers and clean clothes the whole family went up to SMG for a movie and dinner. Another good day!

Movie Night

After school I did a training session with my mentee Gabriel and it was really good. I am really enjoying getting to do this with him and we are both learning a lot.Then I went for a run with my Far. Tonight my mom surprised us and took us to see a movie and have dinner at the new movie theatre near our house. It was really cool and the pizza was yummy.

Hump Day

Had a great training this morning with a mentor session at North Charlotte.  Worked a lot on weapons forms.  I actually felt pretty good overall!  Definitely still need to work on Short Stick Form #4(just sharpen it up a bit), Staff Form #5, and Double Stick Form 2.  I will get there!  TaeKwon forms are even flowing better, I think I am ready to (re)learn TaeKwon Sa.

Today was very tiring for me. I had a science test, homework, and I didn’t sleep well last night. Hopefully tonight I will be able to sleep better. Class today was very good and I like working on my knife self defense a lot. Anyways have a good night everyone!

Today was the usual, I am stressed out on my essay though. Since its due on Friday. I got Leadership Credit 1, mentee and mentor sessions today. I am right now working on my essay that I have to finish up typing. I have a lot of things that I am doing this week.
