Had an interesting class discussion in my business management class, made me start to think about college and the many reasons I want to go. On continuing the discussion for tomorrow I have thought about what I wanted to say. Looking forward to asserting myself on that tomorrow.
Ok, head colds just stink. This is the second cold I've had this cycle and I'm getting a little tired of it. I think the next cycle I do will be the fall time frame. This will be short and not very sweet, due to the fact that I'm having a hard time spelling "dog" correctly. I might be doing a little medicating tonight for a good night sleep. I despise taking medication of any type. I would make a terrible pharmaceutical salesman. Thank God for spell check.
Today is a new unit for school and our last one. Each unit is 10 weeks and we are on Unit 4. Now we have a new project and new lessons to learn. I hope that these 10 weeks will go well.
New projects are always fun and exciting in theory but when it comes to application and execution, tough. Getting it done though!
Our network was down for the weekend so I couldn't journal or put my requirements in. Now that I have a new network, I can do it once again. It feels good to all of a sudden see red turn into green. Like fixing a bad grade. Deep down, your stomach just says, "Finally, now my mom won't be mad at me." It's nice having to know your mom is happy with you. Because trust me, you don't want an angry mother. Anyways, I kinda got sidetracked there. Today I got in both leaderships and a mentee session so that was nice. By the way, I was told we can pick self defense partners so they attack you the whole time instead of both of you attacking each other. I like the idea of that. Today I went back to being a white belt. It felt strange being in the back of the class. But, i did it!
yesterday i did my mute challenge it was hard but i did it today i started my essay for my mute challenge today was a good day to wright my essays because it was raining so i had a lot of spare time to use for essays
This week I have a history test, science test, literature test, math quiz, and a paper for grammar due Friday. The history test is on Thursday, but the rest is on Friday. I am not worried about literature, math, and the paper. I am scared of the history and science test. I think I will do good. The good thing is that spring break is next week so I can have fun and rest.
Today I got in to it. Today it was raining cats and dogs. Today is a rainy day.
Ever since day light savings time came I have never felt awake. My classmates and I at school were all half awake and even my teachers were wishing they could go back to sleep. I think but at the end of the day a kid named Wes who wasn't here to show his project presented it to the class. It was really big and it worked almost perfectly. After that I started to wake up a little bit so at least I survived the day.
I just realized that I still need to do my taxes. This cycle can consume so much of your life, I forget about the other responsibilities that also go along with April. I'm sure I will do another extension this year. My wife will probably claim me as a dependent due to the fact that she has been doing the majority of the house work and dinners, while Connor and I are in the basement working out. I;m sure she's counting the days down more than we are. Did I mention how much I despise day light savings time? I'm dragging here, feeling like the 1970's bionic man running in slow motion. I think I'll be turning in early tonight. Peace out.
It snowed today unfortunately it came and went very quickly, but that is okay. I will take that as a sign that things can change very quickly and that you need to slow down and enjoy what is happening right now.
Not sure what the title means. I just didn't want to type much. The snow was a nice change of pace. I enjoyed watching it while drinking my coffee. It was also nice having the need to start a fire in the wood stove. Yeah, we're a regular ma and pa Kettle here. Wouldn't change it for the world. I went by my old neighborhood yesterday. They seem to squeeze in three more communities around it to make sure you hit gridlock in any direction you go. We went to the movies today and saw The Shack. They did a phenomenal job. They were right with the book. I'll give a quick warning for all you dudes who are thinking of taking a date to it, it's a mega tear jerker. So, unless your girl friend likes her men on the sissy side, you may want to see King King instead....
It snowed today and when church was over the sun was shining! what a crazy day! I fulfilled a lot of my requirements today because i missed out on getting anything done on Friday and Saturday.

Today in the morning I woke up and was surprised to see the snow on the ground. Yesterday was really warm and today was snowing and that did not make any sense to me. But I enjoyed it and was very excited. We are also going to see a movie so this might be a weird day.
Today I helped teach out junior instructors camp and it was a great time, I was very honored to work with the future instructors of our dojang.
Ah, it's time to spring forward and take away that precious hour of sleep. I fear the sermon tomorrow will be accompanied by dozens of head nods. Not the type giving an Amen to the preacher, but good church folks struggling not to fall asleep. I always wonder every year, if this will be the year they get rid of day light savings time. It doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose as it once did. I think the world will keep spinning if we didn't mess with our clocks. I just came from a party it was my Grandfather's B-Day. I did not like the food it was bad. The cake was awesome. The food had mushrooms on the chicken. There were 3 types of cake pineapple, chocolate, and vanilla cake. I ate chocolate cake my sister ate vanilla and chocolate cake. The cake was good. Today is a good day
Today I did a 5k at Corvian with my mom, far, and brother. I ran with my mom and Erik and far beat us. This was my 3rd year running it. It was fun hanging out with my mom.
today was not a good day. Today was a great day i was in a 5K race and finished 107 out of like 400 or something and i did it without stopping so i am proud so in all i got a blackbelt weekend, sparring class, 4.1 miles, lots of pomsaes, and i watched. A movie it was all in all an awsome day.

Today I slept in instead of waking up early for sparring because of soccer. My brother and dad had to get up though but I stayed in bed. I got up around 9:00 and had to eat breakfast and put my gear on. I lost my soccer game 8:2 and we were not very happy about the score. I can't wait for another day of the weekend tomorrow though.
Thinking about putting the subject line of all my journals from now on in the form of song lyrics. I somehow missed sparing and blackbelt class today, but I had a good reason! Color belt testing is next week so I imagine Monday and Tuesday are going to be crazy with students trying to finish their requirements and prepare for testing. Today has been a pretty decent day! Well Duke won! That was for all of the Carolina fans out there. As well as the Charlotte Hornets. It's the first Hornets game I have been to, so the least they could do is win for me. Had a good time. We went with other parents of the boys school. Fun group. Had to chop some wood to get ready for the snow storm coming. I'm having difficulty believing it's going to stick to the ground after all this warm weather. We'll see if I'm wrong. It's happened once before. No laughing now. Today I learned my credits from camp so if anyones wondering how I got all these classes in one day it is because of the credits from Instructors camp. Now that I got that off my chest, I am ready for tomorrow. I will help Master Chelley with family class and then go take black belt class and then do requirements for the rest of the day. When we got home from King Tiger I got to go play with my friends until it was time for dinner. We hung outside on the trampoline. We had pizza for dinner and I am happy it is the weekend!

Today I had no school so I had a free day. I woke up about 9:00 and had breakfast. After breakfast about 11:30 I helped my dad put logs onto a shelf so we can have a fire and stay warm. There were enough logs to last about a week. Also I am going to see a Hornets game with all of my school friends. I wish day could never end.

Here we are, passed the mid point of the cycle, and looking good. 50 more days left according to my calculations. Hopefully everyone is somewhat on track. The key is strategy. Knowing what to focus on first like the push up and sit ups, pomsaes, and self defenses. That stuff will kill you if you don't have those knocked down to a manageable level by now. What's really gong to put me six feet under is the new skill. I still haven't found something new to learn. At least something that doesn't cost a lot or take a great deal of time. I am thinking of taking a pool maintenance class. Something that could help me with my pool up at the lake. Chlorine, free chlorine, pH, blah blah blah. Today was the Culminating Event for my school. My class all shared our machines that we invented. I had one of the best projects which made a robot dance. Other people had some cool machines too like cracking open an egg. The other grades also had their projects like the 3rd graders launched rockets. This day was one of the best throughout the year.

Today, was such a Grrrreat! Day!I got in a lot of poomsaes and self defenses that I really think helped me out. Today in class I got to lead in a kicking exercise where we went around the mat doing back leg front kicks, then sidekicks, then roundhouse kicks. We went until we were where we started. It was nice, I liked it. I also got to take sticks class with a high blue belt named Adam, Mrs. Belcher, Master Chelley, my Mom and I. The thing is is that we all went to Instructors camp! Today was pretty uneventful, I have to work on a group project in AP psych for the next couple of classes. Seems like I was put in charge of the group, I don't mind and honestly I am glad I was put in charge so I can feel like I am more in control of the assignment.
It never fails, when you spend weeks helping your son do his project, and you think it's in the bag, then BOOM! You find there are three papers and other parts that has to be done the night before. Fortunately, we are done with it, and it turned out pretty cool. We did a Rube Goldberg machine (I had to you tube what that was) that started a robot to dance. Tricky to explain, but it has a lot to do with levers, incline and decline planes, dominoes, two mouse traps and of course, one toy dancing robot. Hopefully it will work at school as it did here. All I know, is it's out of my house tomorrow, and that is good. The other big thing today, yes it's a memorable day, is we priced out installing a pool into our back yard. Today was a pretty good day, but I did learn a lesson to ignore what other people say about me.
So testing is next week and we must have had almost 50 students in class for the Wednesday family class. Ever get to the point where you just have to try to work with everyone and have them take a seat when they poomsae is done so you can focus on the next group and the poomsae they will be tested in? Today I did ALOT of exercise 200 pushups and 200 sit ups. I love doing all my exercise it is so much fun to know that I get them done and over with for the day
Today we did sparing and it was really fun becase i got to spar another person other than the normal because of the height i am there is only one person who is the same belt as me and the same height and so i was really excited we also worked on kicks and i enjoyed it.
Tomorrow will be my birthday! I didn't go to TKD today because i had a headache, so my mom let me take the day off. I am about to take a shower and go to bed. Tomorrow when i wake up I will be 10!
Forgot about how I hadn't run in a while and I tried to run my old fast pace and hurt my legs. Not in a bad way, just didn't realize how much out of shape they had already become. You see, when you run, you have to constantly run. Like, every day, every other day, and stuff like that. You don't just pace your self, you pace your schedule.
Today I was like can I take a break from the cycle. The answers was no. I still did requirements. Today is a good day.
I learned how to make a cover letter in business management today and it made me think about the future and whom I may want to send the letter too... made me smile and get excited for what the future holds.

Today was so uneventful that it's hardly worth writing about. I worked up at Lake Norman, came home and made dinner, went to King Tiger, and home again. Today I almost forgot to do my journal. I had dance class today. I do not like dance class because I do not like dancing in front of people. Today is a good day.
Today was blackbelt and we worked on our 1-20 spparring combinations and it was really good because i got practice and kicks thumbs up.

Today at school I had to get ready for our Culminating Event which is on Thursday. That is the day where my classmates and I bring in our projects that we worked on during the month. We share our projects to parents who come to see what we have done and I made a machine for my project. I can't wait to share my project with the parents coming on Thursday.
So had 2 days of rest and relaxation (partially... still had to work the past 2 days) but everything is starting to feel back to normal. Swelling in my right ankle went down greatly and can walk without so much as a limp! Should be starting back up classes tomorrow.
Very good day today. My calfs are feeling much better than they were. Im getting pretty excited for tomorrow's demo class. I have a lot of things i want to try and do!
today me and my dad got the finishing touches on my new skill we were hard at work finding all the stuff I really need to make it perfect for you and everyone at black belt testing. I think that my new skill is really cool and I think that king tiger will LOVE it ALOT!!!!!!!!!!
Really enjoying working at the dojang more and more every single day... really going to miss it when I leave for college in the fall. But there is no reason to dwell on the negative but enjoy the positive.

Still a bit sore, but the funny thing is, the run felt great. I was only planning on doing a one miler, but felt so good, went for two. Sometimes just getting some blood flow to the sore muscles is the best cure. Fortunately, today was a light work day. I went and saw the Logan movie. Still trying to come to a conclusion on that one, whether I liked it or not. I don't know if you read my previous journal about how I like old fashion movies that the good guy saves the day and doesn't die. I won't do any spoiler alerts here. But I am insulted with marvel with the use of profanity they have been using. Your heroes should not be dropping the f bomb all the time. Especially to kids. I guess marvel is trying it's best to push the morality limits. Why is that?...
Today at school for English we shared mini books that we made to the 2nd graders. We rotated through two stations until we had to leave. I read to six kids by the time we were done. This was a very exciting day to be with the 2nd graders.
Another Instructor camp is over. 4 hours of sleep 2 nights in a row... I haven't done that since I worked for the State of Florida and now remember one of the reasons I don't work for them anymore. After I finally got home yesterday I passed out around 4 pm and woke up at 7:30 am this morning. I think I was a little tired. My legs aren't working correctly (although the swelling in my right ankle went down this morning) so I think by Wednesday I may be ready to resume classes!
This week is officially my birthday week! I'll be in double digits on Thursday! Today my family and I went to church and out to breakfast after. It was a great day!
Yeah! Instructors camp was so much fun! Hours upon hours upon of training every day, pool training, and they say you save the best for last... Training with Grandmaster Lee! We stayed in the Holiday Inn in Greenville but really all we did there was sleep(At midnight)and eat breakfast. Otherwise, we were training. We were judged on poomsaes, taught how to apply them into life, we went over drills to do with students, how you should treat your students, and how to make your students feel welcome. We also had a knife class with Master Hartle(Mr. Master Hartle), sticks class with Master Evins, a sword class with Master Geeson, and a kicks and tricks class with Master Osborn. The drill class with Master Chelley and Master Knight was a lot of fun and I think that the things we talked about and drilled will make class fun for students.
Tonight for dinner my parents made my favorite meal. Bearnaise sauce, grilled steak, homemade fries, and asparagus. My favorite part was the Bearnaise sauce and the steak together. I really like trying new foods because sometimes they become my favorite foods! Oh and we got dessert too!
today we had our third soccer game in the tormament sadly we lost in over time. But aleast i had a lot of fun and spent a lot of time with my team. In the end it was not a waste of time.
Today, is a ibuprofen day. Returned home from instructors camp and now even my eye lids are sore. But, it was the best camp I've been to. Connor came with me and got to feel the joy/pain of instructors camp. The best way I could describe instructors camp is a blend of the TV shows, Kung Fu, Hogan's Heroes, Survivor, and Seinfeld. Training, camaraderie, toughness, and good humor. Although, there are a few Three Company moments, when I thought I heard the instructors say something but interrupted into something completely different to fit my needs. I enjoyed the special time it gave Connor and I on the drive there and back, talking about everything or just hanging out together. I highly recommend it if you ever get the chance. Today I was coming home from Instructors Camp. I was really tired from all of the late night training and slept in today. I left the hotel at 10:45 and it took about two hours and thirty minutes to get home. I slept for thirty minutes of the ride back which refreshed me a little. I can't wait to go to bed after staying up late for two nights.

Today I had tests all day and I was a little nervous even though I studied. I am continuing to improve my studying habits to feel more comfortable at the end of the day.
My class went on a field trip to see Step Afrika! I really liked it because my sister is in a sorority and she steps like the performers were doing on stage. My mom came on the trip with our class. But, she didn't take me home when she left.
today is social studies we were studying Ancient Rome and ironically we had pizza after for dinner. We went to my favorite pizzeria and got some gelato and my sis got a necklace and a plus toy.
today we got to go to the mall where i got 2 new toys one is a choker and the other one is a toy pulsh and it is soooo cute and adorable if you look at its eyes. It Evan has a name it is Gus. I love him sooooooooo much i would hate it if i lost him i would be so sad
Today I didn't have to go to King Tiger because Nonny came. She is my grandmother. We really have fun with her every time she comes.
At the dojang today I worked with kids who are a little more troublesome and it was very tough but I enjoyed it as really stretched my skills on an instructor. I am ready to start working on helping those kids improve and make their class time more successful for them.
The only that sticks out in my mind from today was that it was club sub day at Harris Teeter. Since my work is very mobile, I end up eating most of my lunches at Harris Teeter. What can I say, $3.99 for a sub, it's hard to beat. Another interesting thing that happened to me, is a fell asleep on my sons school lawn. I have to pick up Trent at 2:30, then wait an hour to pick up Connor at 3:30. Usually, Trent and I throw the football around, but it was just so nice outside, and the grass was so crisp from the rain yesterday, I laid down for a second, then woke up to a small voice, Trent, that said, "Daddy, are you ok?" today i did black belt class and did every pomsae and self defenses in the color belt section. Which means that i have finished all of my weekly blackbelts! I am also to the point where i have only 1 more leadership two and three more leadership ones. I cant believe the cycle is almost over it feels like just yesterday i was in Saturday class getting my book. I hope i pass the pre-test and get my first pum but any way to today was really good!
It is 24 day in till my birthday. Today I went to lake Norman's sparring class It started at 6:30 and end at 7:30 but I missed black belt class. It is okay because I went to class on Tuesday. I had to spar everyone in class. I got a lot of sparring rounds in that was good. Today is a good day.
Today in school I am getting ready for my tests and quizzes. I have to study a lot of subjects because each of them has either a test or a quiz that I have to study for. So far I am doing good and know what is required so I hopefully will get good grades.
Today was a different day because in the morning meeting at school we talked about our trip to go see a play called Step Afrika. Now I've said this before and I'll say it again. I love running, but a man can only take so much. So I'm not going to the gym tomorrow morning because my mom hurt her leg, I feel bad for her. I also found out that I got one of the highest grades on my cycle 3 assessment, one of the hardest tests in the school. I got an 84! It really lifted my spirit. During my exploration of the of the Kannapolis galaxy, I came across these fascinating creatures that drive great speeds in their rolling transporters, while performing incredible feats of hair care, talking into their communication devices, and applying layers of paint to their faces. As I watched carefully, there were plenty of encouraging spectators from other vehicles, making cheerful goose noises, and displaying the way to heaven with a single finger. Today I had a history test. it was pretty hard for a history test. Some of the questions were easy, but other questions were hard. I do not think I failed it. I hope I did good. I also have a math and science test on Friday, Math is ok, but science is pretty hard for me. I hope I do good.
Today I had home school and it was very long. I got done at about 5:00 pm and it was tiring too. After I was done I went out for my two mile run which I did good and worked on requirements for most of the evening.

I tested for kids for their new belts today at the dojang and I enjoy it every time but I feel like I could improve more on my testing lay out to make it more fun for the student and the parent watching. Makes me feel great whenever a student breaks their board and earn their belt.
My rest and relaxation day is over. Back to work tomorrow... Starting to doubt the wisdom of doing 2 days of classes and then instructor camp, but thus is life on the cycle...
It happens every year, Instructors Camp. And every year I have to brace myself for the roller coaster that goes with it. For me, it's a test of my patience and humility. It's a lot of fun most of the time, but there are some times and some people that test my resolve, and make me feel like I am back in basic training again. One of the reasons I am self employed is freedom. Freedom from others making decisions in my life. I enjoyed my time in service, but no way in hell will I go back to being under someones thumb again. So I remind myself, to breathe, and find my happy place, when others wish to pull me around by the nose. Never lose the smile, and never let anyone take away the joy of life. Laugh at those who try.
