Tonight is testing and I hope that everyone does well
Today high school went to JA Finance Park, which is basically the same thing as Biztown, but with real life senarioes. Mine was that I was a 28 year old single mother with a 7 year old child. We were given budgets and all of that and we had to create our own life based our budgets. It was fun and stressful. I’d go back again.
I don't understand. The last day of the quarter for my school is on Friday, yet today was the last day to turn in work. Does that make any sense? Because I don't understand.
Today I finally finished my book, Escaping Fron Houdini. I have to say, I was not expecting the killer to be who it was. This author writes some good books.
It is official, my art teacher is pregnant. The kids said that she is 2 months, but I’ve suspected it since September during fall camp. She’s doesn’t even teach Bieber so I can’t imagine what the rest of the year would be like.
Today was a very slow day at school. I was really tired and I wanted to take a nap. We got to play kahoots in math today. I didn’t play because I barely understand the math. I’m glad I didn’t play.
Today was a very slow day at school. We had a seminar in earth science about structures built along the shore to prevent erosion, she did not pick a good article. Then I did a lot of work in math, surprisingly. I’m still behind though. We also got new Tokyo Ghoul books in the library and it was like a mad dash to see who could check them out first. It was entertaining. I also surprisingly got a lot of work done in Spanish. Art was fun though. We think that the art teacher is pregnant. She keeps saying stuff that relate to the topic since the beginning of the year. I’ve suspected but kept my mouth shut. But now we’re sure that she’s having a baby.
On Saturday I had my birthday party. We went to Painting With a Twist and painted a tree with butterflies. It was a nice small party with a few friends and family that chose to come down for it. After that we went to Outback with a family friend and her kids. To be honest, they seem like family rather than friends.
Today after school there was a meeting on a Europe trip next year for Spring Intersession. I went to it because I turn it down I want to know what they plan on doing. They are going to take us to London, France, and Germany. (There are only 15 spots) I don't know if I want to go or not. Im leaning more towards not going, 1, because its so expensive, 2, I want to know what other Spring Intersession options there are, and 3, it gives me so much anxiety thinking about going. I do want to see the World War 2 sites and stuff though. But I really don't want to go
Today was very cold. The 11th graders took the ACT today and it was on chrome books, and since the teachers did not want to crash the server, no one could use chrome books, where all of our work is. I also had an in class essay on To Kill a Mockingbird. I think I did good but then again, who really knows.
both today and yesterday at school were b days because yesterday was a make up day. I don’t really like b days because the two teachers that I don’t like are my b day teachers. I also don’t really like math but we’re moving into a unit that I finally understand.
Both today and yesterday at school were b days because yesterday was a make up day. I don’t really like b days because the two teachers that I can’t stand, I have on b days. I also don’t re
Yesterday was fairly eventful. After class my friend came over. We played club penguin rewritten and she got banned twice. Both times for cursing. So now she has three accounts. My sisters fish also died so we had to have a funeral for it. R.I.P. Torito
So I just dound our that this family that I went to school with in eighth grade just had another baby. This is baby number 10. 10 kids! That is way too many kids to have. It’s just, wow. 10 kids.
Today I got my learners permit. I don't know how I feel about legally being able to drive, but we'll see what happens I guess.
So apparently the French foreign students came today. I thought that they were coming in April. Guess not. They are only two at my school and they are both boys. Like all the girls are all like “Oh my god there’s hot French boys here!” Like calm down please, I need to get this work done and it’s hard when you keep mentioning that there’s a French kid in class like every few minutes.
today was a very sluggish day. One of my sisters was sick last week and now one just got sick this morning and my moms not feeling too good so that’s fun. We were in charge of my neighbors dogs today and I went to help. We went to Target and got stuff. Some that we needed and some that we don’t. I also did a lot of homework.
Today was a slow day at school. Almost half of the high school is sick with the flu, so it’s unsettling. It was way too hot in the Spanish room for class so we went outside and had class outside. Mrs. Jolly taught class tonight and it was fun. We watched the new Mummy movie too.
So apparently ladybugs are good at pest management. In horticulture, my teacher bought this container of them to release a few at a time in the greenhouse, because some middle schooler left the door wide open and now we have bug issues. So she meant to let a few out, and she did, but then she dropped the whole container on the floor and they were all on the loose. We tries to get them back in the container, but we gave up. Now theres about 100 ladybugs in there. Those bugs don't stand a chance now.
Today in horticulture we were in the greenhouse transplanting stuff into bigger pots. I don't know why but I just do not like being in the greenhouse at all. The teacher also sprayed us with the hose. It was really cold water.
It is officially Girl Scout cookie season. I can't tell you the number of cookies I have eaten already. My family is a sucker for Girl Scout cookies.
Today was a very, uh, interesting day today. First when I was going to school, there was this big accident that literally happened right across the street from us with a car hitting a truck. Then my homeroom/English teacher brought in all these National Geographic magazines from the 70's. Then later in the day this kid in my Astronomy class breaks his Chromebook, oops. Today just had a weird feeling to it.
Today was a really big sparring class. I also learned Tae Kwon Yi today. So this morning my mom told me that when she got off the phone with my grandma, the temperature was -22 degrees. Thats just, wow.
So it turns out that I did miss some drama in art class while I was gone. So you know those dresses that I mentioned a while ago that we are making, well were in groups of four. So yesterday when I was in History, one of the girls in my group asked if I had switched groups. I told her no, and I had no idea where that came from. So then this morning when I was in Science, one of the girls in the other group, we'll call her A, she told me that a girl from her group, lets call her M, apparently SWITCHED PLACES with me and M is in my group and I am in A's group. I was like oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no. So then later in math A was in that class. I asked why Im in her group and...
Today was a very stressful day. I had so much homework to do that I literally just finished it now. All of this week I have had no time to do anything, only homework. Im really hoping that I will have some time to log in my requirements that I did manage to do on Friday or Saturday.
This wee has been very busy. From going to Disney, to coming home and doing hours upon hours of homework. I haven't had much time to do much of anything. Also do you know the things like "Oh I missed one day of school and I missed 4 essays, fights, and all that." Well its true. I missed maybe 3 days of school and I come back to having a test tomorrow which I didn't know about, 12 math video notes due also tomorrow, and I missed all the "drama" at the lunch table. I missed a lot.
Both yesterday and today we spent at two Disney parks. Yesterday we went to Animal Kingdom. There is this scavenger hunt think that is all over the park and you get like a pin or something for completing it. The only problem, all of the checkmarks close at 5. I did it when I was maybe in second grade but the last stop closed and I never finished. But now I'm hoping that I can finish it, eight years later. Today we war to the Magic Kingdom. Its my favorite park. We went on a few rides, ate lunch, rode some more rides, and then watched the fireworks. Over these past four days I have walked over 20 miles and my feet are killing me. But today was so much fun.
Both yesterday and today we went to Universal. It was so cold yesterday and today. This morning we went to Chief Mickey to get breakfast and went to Universal. My mom and I went on The Revenge of the Mummy ride. It was fun, but it was really fast, and indoors in the dark. About halfway through the ride you pull into a landing area where the ride stops and theres a persons shadow in the box and they're saying stuff like yay you made it or was it a fun ride? And then the mummy jumps out and is like lol nope, and you do all the spinning stuff in the dark all over again. I would ride it again.
Yesterday me and my family drove down to Florida to go to Disney and Universal. We didn't go to any parks today but I did some homework and we went to Downtown Disney. It was a relaxing day.
Today I took the last midterm which was the World History one. It was really easy because yesterday we did a review game and she read the questions off of the midterm itself. I also did really good on my Spanish midterm. Also, it was reviled to us that in I think April, there will be about 8 French foreign exchange students coming to my school. I can only imagine the chaos that will occur.
Today I took the earth science midterm. And just like last years biology one, it did not match the study guide at all. I don't understand the point of having to do the study guide when it would not benefit us. We also played a game after the test called Three on a Bench. It was fun.
Today I had two more midterms. I had math and Spanish. I don't think that I did too well in the math one. I recognized everything on it, but I couldn't remember how to do it. I know I did really good on my Spanish one. There were only three questions that I did not know. In art, me and my group were talking about anime and stuff from when we were little children. It was a good day.
Today I had two midterms. One for English, and one for astronomy. We almost didn't take the English one because the test didn't work and it said stuff like "this test is not assigned to you." and stuff like that. The astronomy one was easy. It was the exact same as the practice test we took earlier. I have math and Spanish tomorrow, we'll see how that goes.
Today when I came home from class I was doing homework for a solid two and a half hours and I'm still not done. I also got a shelf put in above my desk so I can put stuff on that to attempt to minimize the disaster on the desk. So far its working, but we'll see in about a week how that turns out.
Today was the last day of quarter two and I am surprised that I got all of my work done on time. The amount of work that they made us do was just ridiculous. I really want it to snow over the weekend, but if it messes up the schedule for midterms, I will not be too pleased.
This has been a very busy week for me. I haven't had time to do anything other than homework. I don't understand why teachers give us work today that we have to complete for the last day of the quarter, which is tomorrow along with other work that is all also due tomorrow. There is not enough time. But I got to walk my history teachers dog today. She brings him everyday and he is a very good dog.
This morning was not the typical Monday morning at my School. As we were changing classes from homeroom to first block, we saw the chorus/band teacher on his bike, ridding around the school, shouting "Wheeee!" Defiantly not a normal morning.
Today was a busy day and I did not get much of my requirements done. I helped make breakfast, then did a lot of homework. Then I made a hat for this sweet little girl that I babysit. After that I helped rake the leaves and take down the Christmas decorations outside and went for a walk. When we got home I did more homework and my grandma came over for dinner. if only Monday was a part of the weekend.
Today my family was watching my neighbors dog. We took her and our dog on a long walk. When we got her home, all she wanted to do was to lay under the trampoline. It was a very nice day though. A little too warm for winter.
Today I had to go back to school. It was a fairly good day. In Spanish we moved seats last class and now its one of those awkward silences during the entire class. Also in art we get to make a dress or tux out of recyclable materials. My group chose to do a dress and my friend is the model. The whole group compromised one a dress. He wanted something with empty cans so that he can call it "light weight armor". I think its going to turn out ok.
Wy family and I went to the movies again today. This time we saw the new Spider Man movie. As we were watching the trailers, the trailer for A Silent Voice popped up and I got so excited. Its an anime movie and its been released for about a year, maybe two. But it hasn't been released in theaters in the U.S. But Its finally here!
There is just something so stressful about the last few days of break. You have the stress of trying to understand and actually do the homework, figuring out what classes you have the first day back, figure out what work is due sooner, thinking of midterms, having to wake up early soon, and just school in general. At least I have only two days of school this week. Why do teachers assign stuff to do over break? Just why? They complain about all the grading that they have to do, so a simple solution is to not give out as much stuff.
Today was my friends dads birthday. They had one of those chicken nugget platters from Chick-fil-a and I had like 20 chicken nuggets. I also taught people how to make paper cranes. I was also undefeated at Battle Ships. It was a good day.
Today my family and I went to go see the Aquaman movie. It really wasn't too good. The think that bothered me was that it was almost identical to the Barbie Mermaid Tail movies. Water person and human fall in love, have a kid, the mom goes back to the ocean, kid grows up and gets powers, they have to go an a quest to find these magical items to overthrow evil family member, they succeeds, and the mom comes back. It was a long movie too.
Today was a busy day. We started the morning off with a 2 mile walk. Then when we came home we went straight to Michaels to get a marker holder for me and one of my sisters, and a pencil case for the other. Then we went to Target to get my dad something for his birthday and $50 later on things that we most likely don't need, we went to lunch. As we were coming home we were in traffic for almost an hour. That was ridiculous. When we went home I then started working on my essays and finished three of them. Now I just need to clean off my desk.
I didn't do much today. I went for a walk/run with my mom and sisters, did my requirements, went to Five Guys for lunch, and cleaned out my closet. I looked through every journal and art book from when I was younger and it made me happy and sad to see them. It was hard getting rid of things because I loved them when I was younger. But I don't need them anymore, so it was time for me to let them go.
Yesterday after class, my family and I went up to Raleigh to see the Penguins play the Hurricanes. Where we went up, one of my dad's cousins came to dinner with us. We haven't seen her in a long time. What I can't believe was that the Penguins won the game with a 3-0 score. And even though it was an away game for Pittsburgh, nearly every single person there had Penguin wear. I couldn't sleep last night because my nose decided to be stuffy again and its almost Christmas, so, yay.
Yesterday was a very rainy day. A friend came over and we took her to the store so that she could get Christmas gifts for her mom. The Pittsburgh Penguins have also won two hockey games in a row. We are going to see them play tomorrow and we hope that they win again.
Today is the first day of winter break for me. Yesterday in World History we had a debate on whether the death of Julius Caesar was justified or not. It was, quiet interesting. I don't understand why teachers think that giving work over break is a good idea and then get upset when they find out that no one did it. I will still do it because it will make me feel guilty if I don't.
I had a very violent allergic reaction yesterday into today which left me with no sleep and I had to make the final decision to not go to class this morning so I would have enough energy to do the second part of my school project this afternoon. At least now I can breath through my nose a bit now.
Today was student teacher role reversal day where the students dress like the teachers and the teachers dress like the students. One kid dressed up as the Spanish teacher and the Spanish teacher dressed like him and they actually traded places. The kid taught Spanish and the teacher did what the kid usually does. That was probably the best Spanish class ever.
I had school today, which I was not to happy about. It was a decent day. It probably would have been a good idea to at least get of the snow out of the way, because when you have hyperactive high schoolers pelting each other with snow balls, chaos occurs.
Well, tonights testing. I hope that everyone does they're best and tries to not fall asleep. Good luck.
At school we do this thing called Intersession where its a two week break time from academic work at school. Im in the DIY Intersession which is basically just doing bigger crafts. We didn't really do anything yeaterday but today we went to the McColl center and walked around the building. After that, we went to a park that had a whole bunch of bird houses. Further in that park was a swing set. The few problems, there was only four swings, two of which were baby swings, and there were 12 of us. Were weren't allowed to go on them until after we finished our lunch, so we all had this silent contest to see who would get to go on the swings first. I got to go on. I don't think that I have ever had to run so fast in my life just to get a...
Overall it has been a vey eventful week. Nothing really happened on Monday. On Tuesday in Agriculture, one of the teachers had a wood burning pen and let us use it. That wasn't the best idea at all. One of my friends actually set the fire alarm off. So while we were outside by the field, he stood at the top of the hill and told the whole middle school and half the high school that it was his fault. Then on Wednesday we played this game in P.E. called Bases and Rackets. Its like kickball but theres two bases. One in the corner of the gym and one across from the first in another corner. Instead of rolling the ball and kicking it, it has to be thrown and he can either hit it with a tennis racket or a baseball bat. When most of the girls were...
In yearbook, since we finished both the middle and high school yearbooks, we went to the practical life room and labeled all of the cabinets and stuff. So there was this plastic container in the very back of the fridge. I think it was once yogurt or some type of dairy related thing, but not anymore. It was so disgusting. Cleaning it was probably the grossest thing I've done all week.
In Agriculture today, only 3 of the eggs hatched into baby chicks. The rest were dead eggs. So for some reason, we got to dissect the eggs. I didn't dissect any but I did touch them. There was one that was so close to making it out of the egg but couldn't get out. And one girl had an unfertilized egg and she squeezed it too hard or something and it got all over her jacket. That shocked all of us. We also learned that there is synthesized pig hair in bread. Sorry for that information.
We went outside in school today and there was a group of people playing a game. It looked really familiar but I couldn't remember where I had seen it. So when my friend started running I asked him what they were playing. It was Zombie Tag. Its been so long since I played that game. I also got to teach my mentee some of her red belt requirements. The bees are also coming out. Joy.
So not only did it snow this morning, there was a fire at my school. One of the heaters in the Biology classroom caught on fire. The biology teacher was yelling at kids to get out and pulled the fire alarm. Everyone thought it was a joke. But they went outside. She then proceeded to pull the fire alarm and couldn't pull the fire extinguisher off the wall. It was the health and P.E. teacher that pulled it off the wall and single handedly saved the school. On the way to school, I actually saw the firetrucks. My first thought was that someone was cooking in the practical life room and caught the school on fire. Well, I wasn't completely wrong. We also had to combine the whole high school into 2 classrooms because both the English teacher and the American History teacher wasn't there and the sub for...
Today was a very modified day in school. My American History teacher had to go to the hospital today. She didn't even make it for an hour. I really hope that she's alright. She brought her cast today too and I got to play with them before she started feeling horrible. So she is my Advisory teacher. So we had to combine her Advisory group with the English teachers group. We played a group initiative called Peanut Butter River. It was fun. Then she teaches AP Phycology. So both Yearbook and Phycology had to combine classes. So both her and the English teacher won't be at school tomorrow and we only have a sub for English. I think that we might be unsupervised during History. Who knows.
I was up fairly late last night. I originally stayed up to finish my book. But when I finished that, I realized that I didn't want to do my chores today. So I cleaned my room and put away my laundry so I didn't have to do it today. I still wasn't tired. So then I started and finished another book. By then, due to the horrible time change it was well past midnight. So then I finally decided to go to bed. I woke up around 10:30 because my sister texted me and woke me up. I probably could have slept for another hour or two.
I just found out that I don't have to make up the snow day on the 29th. Also stating to not feel that great. Yay.
In art were doing an animation unit. Animation takes forever to do. Especially when you hand draw it. And also I never understand why my Biology teacher teaches a new unit, and the very next class, we take a test. And its a formal grade. So long story short, everyone in all of 9th and 10th grade failed it. We just started a new unit. We can't learn everything in an hour and a half!
Today was fairly uneventful.. The biology classroom is getting something in the ceiling fixed or something like that and we had a seminar about the Tasmanian tiger. My sisters also had they're interviews at my school. Hopefully they'll get in.
Im so out of it today that I was trying to use my school log in information to log in here. And for a teacher thats always on her computer she never adds any grades in.
For English, I have to write a persuasive letter on something that I want to see change from and sent it to the person in charge of it. I chose delays and make up snow days. I realized that most people only wrote a few paragraphs or a page. And then I look at mine and see that I typed almost 4 pages. They'll have fun reading my letter.
Whenever I go to school I'm usually the first one in the classroom because I don't eat breakfast at school. So when I was going down the stairs to my class, both of my Agriculture teachers were outside. Murdock (the dog) was with one teacher and the other teacher was holding something white and fluffy. When she turned around, it was a bunny! I got to hold him twice. I gust can't believe that we have so many animals at my school. So far we have 4 dogs, 2 cats, 1 guinea pig, and 1 bunny. Needless to say, I really like my school.
Today at school was a very fuzzy day. Three of my teachers Brough in their dogs today. One of the Agriculture teachers brought her dog, Murdock, the High School math teacher brought in her dog, Winston, and the school counselor brought hers in, Lily. I didn't even know that Lily was coming today until I saw her running toward me into the yearbook classroom and started licking my arm. They were all so sweet. Murdock had social anxiety and separation anxiety and is always with the teacher. Today was great.
I actually cleaned off my desk and the area around it today. I might rearrange the books in my bookshelf while I'm at it. Its been too hot for it to be winter.
Today in American History wasn't very productive but it was a really good class. We first had a test that I didn't study for but got a 86 on. Thats the best test grade I've gotten in that class. Then she talked to us about the recent school shooting. We had a real lockdown on Monday and she actually was making plans for if something happened in the school that she would have the English teacher take the kids in that building out and she would stay back and fight off the attacker. She wasn't joking. She told us that she also had lighters in the room and she can make a flame thrower if needed. She really cares for us and wants us to be safe. She even calls us her children. I have never once had a teacher in my life tell me that they would protect us...
Yesterday when we went to the store we were originally looking for "Monsters Inc". But they didn't have it. So my sisters found this movie called "When Marnie Was There". When they were watching it today I just got to see a minute of it before I had to do my homework. They told me that it was a sad movie and they cried and "teared up". When I was watching it I thought that it was kind of sad but I didn't cry. But then at the end when Anna was waving to Marnie, thats when all of the sad feelings that a person can feel hit me in the face. It was sad. But I didn't cry. And I also found out that I can quote the whole movie of "Mulan". The useless things I can do amaze me sometimes.
Today was a half day at school so I got home around 1:30. Theres an English essay that I have to write and one of the stories is called "The Lottery". I read that short story maybe 6 times and I had no idea what the story was talking about. When I started looking online I found out what the winner of the lottery gets sacrificed for the growth of the crops by getting killed by the other villagers with thrown stones. Its a really weird thing to read, more or less write a paper on it. So after I figured what it was about, I realized that I had to rewrite 3 paragraphs of the essay because the information does not match. Yay.
Today in PE we had half the gym playing a game called Tchouckball and the rest in various stations around the gym. One station was a jumprope station. There was a girl in my class that was too close to the wall and when she started jumping the rope knocked the class cover off of the fire alarm and the alarm went off. I probably couldn't have done that better even if I tried.
Today I started working on my SAE project in Agriculture. Im going to be making dreamcatchers out of natural materials to the best of my ability. So after it rained, my mom and I went on a walk and I looked for sticks that can be bent without breaking. We met this really fluffy dog and he rolled over when I pet him. I felt so special. I kind of wished that it rained longer though.
Yesterday in agriculture we got to go outside and do work outside. I was the only girl actually outside. All the others were in the green house planting seeds. I was raking mulch with one of my friends during that time. We were walking along the sides of the raised beds because all of the ground was all muddy due to the rain. I am so surprised that I didn't fall into the mud. I tripped and fell on the concrete but at least it wasn't the mud.
My American History teacher got another kitten! She said that when he gets his shots, she will bring him in. Not only will there be one cat running around the class, theres going to be two cats! I didn't have any core classes today because today was a clean-out day where we had to clean out our binders and lockers. I never knew that it could take so long to clean out binders. Today was great.
Last night I was (unsuccessfully) studying my Biology study guide with my mom. I wasn't at the school because I switched schools and I didn't learn the things that they already did. So I was freaking out because the midterm was supposed to be today and I was not ready. You have no idea how relieved I was when they canceled school not only for today, but for tomorrow too. My sisters, neighbors, Aimee, and I made this snow ramp in the front yard. We were flying across the yard and into the road. Theres also this unspoken contest that we have and the person with the most bruises wins. I won again. I can't wait for the snow day tomorrow.
Last night I had to babysit a family. So far the families that I babysat only have 2 kids, but this one had 3, all under the age of 6. Nearly the whole 2 hours I was constantly saying, "Please don't punch your brother. Don't throw the dolls, they don't like that. Stop licking the wall. Don't kick your sister." And my personal favorite, "No, people don't just randomly die when they're back hurts." Now I know how our babysitters felt while watching me and my sisters. But all in all it was a good day.
In American History, everyone is doing horrible. So when the teacher gave us a quiz on the American Revolutionary I was already excepting the not so good grade. But when I got it back, I got the whole thing right. You have no idea how shocked I was. I almost gave it back and told her that it wasn't my test. Then in P.E. the teacher made up this horrible stressful game called Castle Ball. It involved making little hut like structure made out of hulla hoops. Out of everyone in my class, I was the only one who knew how to make them. But then I tripped and knocked over my teams hulla hoops and the other team got the points. That wasn't my best moment. But other than that today was a good day.
In agriculture today we were working on our SAE projects. I'm surprised how much work that we got done. The girl sitting next to me is making a "Butterfly Highway" so that butterflies can have a place to rest. I think thats going to look really pretty because not only is it going to be a lot of flowers, she's going to make a rainbow out of them. I kind of wish that I thought of that. Thats a lot easier than what I'm going to do.
I was really disappointed when my American History teacher wasn't at school today. Mainly because the cat isn't there when she's not. But it was a good class. In art we got the choice to do wood working or knit. I chose to learn how to knit because I don't trust myself with the tools. In health we were reviewing the chest compressions for CPR. My health/PE teacher put on the "Staying Alive" song on because he said something like the beats of the music is when you do each compression. I couldn't take it seriously with the song at all. I also had to explain to the people at lunch that penguins actually do live in Australia, and that the Europeans used to send the English convicts to Australia. Sometimes I even surprise myself with the useless facts that I randomly remember.
This week was a really short week. It was too cold to go outside at school so we didn't get to go outside during agriculture. I found out that I run a lot better when its dark outside. I think that has something to do with the type of books that I read and me not wanting to end up like the people in my books. Its also fun to run in the dark. Im surprised that I haven't tripped once so far. All in all, it was a pretty good week.
It's the last day of winter break. My sisters and I have been sick most of the break but I've been doing everything I need to. And since the science channel is doing a huge Mythbusters marathon, I've been watching that while doing the exercises.
