I just got back from my run a while ago. Easy easy run only 1 measly mile. I'm going to do more. Anyway, I'll be in class today and whatnot.

I can feel that I need to rest. We had a great camp with lots of hard training, late nights and long travel. My body tells me when my immune system is compromised, and I try to listen. No workout this morning for me. Will go for a run shortly. Should be back to full strength tomorrow.
Couple of days break from journaling. Had a wonderful trip to Raleigh with my school. We learned the history of NC and why Raleigh was chose to be our capital. Had to leave by 5.30am on Friday morning and came back at 8pm. I was really tried. Spent most of Saturday taking rest. Had a good day yesterday and finished all my requirements. Played basketball with my dad and also played with my friends. The weather was great
What an awesome Instructors Camp this weekend! I can honestly say that I am successfully sore and tired and had a great time. The quadriceps and hamstrings are the most sore. I much prefer that to sore throat and sinuses though. Thanks Master Nurse Tucker for letting me join you and your kids on the ride to and from and helping me study too. It is always fun to train with and meet new friends and get to see friends we don't see often.
Hello. I was quite sleepy most of the day. I worked on school work mostly. Made dinner. Not much else.
For some weird reason I could not log the stuff that I did. It giving me a weird error. Hopefully it is working again so that I am able to log my stuff. That's all, goodbye.
Really wanted to go to Instructor's camp this year. And I was going to try, even if it meant getting there at 9 or 10 PM on Friday. I decided not to because I'm so tired in the evenings. There was no way I could safely make the drive after a busy day, in the dark. So glad I did not commit to go. Saw 20 patients in the office while orienting a new employee. One of my patients at the hospital needs to go back to the OR later this AM. If I had signed up for the camp, I would have had to cancel anyway. I'm getting away from the perspective that I must do everything now. There will be instructor's camps years in to the future and I will get to go to many in the future. Despite my internal drive to do everything perfectly, I'm only human....
This is a very early post... Its 5am now and i am almost ready to go to school. We have a school trip to Raleigh for all 4th graders and i need to be in school by 6am. I am pretty sure i will be sleeping on the way up and down. Yesterday my dad and i did our eye check up.... not too bad.. a just a click up and we are deciding if we need new glasses.
Well I'm pretty much packed for instructor's camp. I can't say I'm not nervous. I'm not looking forward to the homework I'll have to catch up, but hopefully this camp will give me more drive. I'm beginning to feel lazy like most seniors do at this time. Pretty weak of me.
Packing and looking forward to Instructors Camp this weekend. It will be nice to see people we typically only see at Instructors Camp and always some new ones. We will miss you Master Randle, Master Ritchie and others that are regular attendees. On previous black belt cycles I have tried to be caught up enough that not keeping up with requirements would not be a problem. This time has not worked out as smoothly. Poor planning on my part and a few unexpected hiccups as well.
Still trucking along. Fitness feels pretty good. Haven't lost the weight I wanted for this cycle yet. More work to do. Handstand Push Ups are getting better. DU jump ropes not so much. WOD: 3 rnds 30 wallballs (20 lb) 20 box jump 10 Power Clean (135 lb) Hitting extra ab work after every workout, and extra stretching. More Poomse work with Master Evins, and Instructor Camp prep
Yesterday was good but really long. Went to Kumon from school and from there straight to Tae Kwon Do. Did my regular class, leadership and then Hyper. Yesterday was Wednesday and we do sparring in Hyper. It was fun. I sparred against DeAndre. He is tall and very quick and big too!! i love sparring against him and anyone bigger and stronger than me. Makes me get better.
This was a while ago, but I was out running one day and I saw a squirrel. I guess it didn't see me because I kept running and got pretty close to it before it went nuts and bolted. Hahaha, get it? Nuts, as in what squirrels eat and nuts and bolts as in a mechanical fastening device. Hahaha
Afterschool today, I helped out a coding class and got paid, which was nice.
I was doing some poomsaes last night, taeguk yi chang in particular, and thought back to when I was learning it. I was Master Randle's mentee when she was testing for black belt, probably her first Dan. I remember getting confused easily and she was always so patient. I still do and she still is. That seems so long ago. I'm sure at that time, I never even thought that I would have a black belt too. Thank you ma'am! You rock!
Hello, today I got some decent requirements done. I think i'll wrap it up short for todays journal. For me, today was just a normal day. However, I did make an accomplishment of finally crossing someone up in basketball that was really good. It's strange, i'm great/decent at so many different sports. Example: Football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. Well, good night.
Helped with adult class this evening. It was fun. Back is still sore from yesterday's jump kicks. Surgery yesterday. Surgery tomorrow. Orienting a new employee tomorrow. Anxious to see how she will fit in. Working short staffed is not going to work for too long. Choosing a group health plan. Can't remain competitive for good employees without benefits. Plus insurance is expensive even for the crappy plans. Tired all the time. Classes are a good break from the stress.
The quote up there really struck me. He was getting mad at us for not playing the right notes and started getting angry. He stopped put down he baton and looked at us. He said do you know how to be successful in life. We said practice. He said yes but something more than that. He said you must fail first. Wanted to call out everyone in this BB Cycle to come up with ideas on Community Service. It is really important that we give back to our community and based on the discussions we have had with Instructor Dege, Instructor Foster and Mr Ryan we have a few thoughts. Last year we collected school supplies for under privileged children; Jeff Gordon hospital or any other ideas???
Yesterday was fun day but really long too. I helped out Jr Tigers. It is always fun to help the little kids. Then i had a great mentor session with Master Randle. She is really very good and makes sure that I work on every small detail as well. I really love getting things perfected. My dad spoke to Instructor Foster,Mr Ryan and Instructor Dege on various community service projects. We will have to come up with something quickly.
Quick post before bed. Partially cleaned my room today which was an amazing achievement. Did double classes with my pal, Eric. We're going to be starting a new unit in statistics tomorrow.
We did pushups several different ways in class tonight, but they all hurt my wrists. I noticed tonight while doing pull-ups, with a band of course, that my wrists don't hurt as when I do pushups, but my elbows are sore. I will try cutting my fingernails shorter and doing some pushups on my fists. That might give my wrists a break once in a while. I need to find the rest of my answers and study up for the written test. It will be here before I am ready.
Today I did a long workout. I will be very sore but it was worth it. I hope to catch up on my requirements.
Busy day. The construction in front of the hospital is unpredictable. On any given day I don't know ho long it will take me to get to the hospital. Good class tonight. Back pain when I land those jump kicks.. Between adult class yesterday, black belt class tonight and surgery earlier today, I'll be sore tomorrow. Max, my cat, fussed at me when I came home late. He does not get that I'm working. He seemed offended, like he was my dad and I broke curfew. Night fellow cyclistts.

It was bascailly a final for the class because it last time I will be doing a Wrting assignment in the class. It is done this quarter. So happy. Then in all the other classes we just took notes and worksheets like the Normal. Came back home and did homework and requirements. Then went to BB class. My ankle stated hurting for some reason. I almost had to sit out but I came through it. Doesn't hurt as much know. Hope everyone had a great day!
Today we got released two hours early at school so I got so much requirements done. It was crazy! I ran 5.3 miles today, which I thought was impossible for me, thennn, I had to do sparring class. Today was very painful, yet worth it in the end. Oh, by the way, if anyones wondering, I do have my white belt essay complete I just still need to turn it in. Well, good night fellow black belts.
Yesterday was a really long day. Did regular class, Leadership and Hyper. We had to do a lot burpees as few people did not focus and were lazy. Hyper was fun as we did Kama forms.
When I got home from work today it was still a little light out, so Matthew and I ran a little over a mile. It will be nice when it is still light when we are finished too.
I think it gets harder and harder everyday to make sure I am up to date with my requirements and still on track. I like it when I can just focus on learning new stuff without making sure I meet the requirements for the day.
Think I have my brick breaking routine in mind. 13 bricks in multiple breaks. Pretty normal day today. Nothin much. Did work at school like normal came home did requirements and did homework. Then went to Hyper had a mentor session with Instructur Weeks and came back home. Went to a class and finally go to write the journal. If you are reading this and your part of the BB cycle please call a charity and look into it for us to go as a group. The Men's Shelter is not calling back. We need to get that done.
Ahhh, well, yesterday was a good day. I played football and baseball a lot. I was outside for hoouurrs. Then I went inside, did requirements, and finished my kicks.
Yesterday was fun day. I played with my sister and my friends. We had a great time. I finished all my requirements by noon and played post that. Watched Oscars for a little before i hit bed. Getting ready for school and long day / week ahead of me.
Today was pretty uneventful. I mainly studies for my statistics test tomorrow and focused on pushups and situps. I look forward to class tomorrow.
After helping out with Jr Tigers and family class yesterday, I worked with Daniel again on his self-defense. He is definitely feeling confident with it even though he still mixes them up a little. He enjoys taking me down on #1. We also worked on sparring combinations some. We could definitely work on that some more. I look forward to working with him on his new poomsae. Last night I did push-ups and sit ups with my cousin on speakerphone. That was different. She has done many of the physical requirements with me on previous black belt cycles also. I keep asking Matthew to go running with me and he finally said yes. We went about 2 miles. It has been too long since I last ran and it wasn't pretty, but it was nice that Matthew was encouraging and didn't leave me in the dust like Jeremy has done in...

Today was where I did basically all my homework. Took forever but payed off at the end. Had to do 75 Cornell notes. If you know what that is. That took an hour. It was hard. My hand still hurt. Went to Church, ate lunch played with friends and did homework. That's how my day went. Anyways hope you had a better than I did!Lol
Yesterday was a pretty good day. Went to BB class. BB class was really good. I also did my mentee session before BB class. Came back home and had lunch and finished my assignments and requirements. Watched a movie and then hit bed. Going to finish all my requirements by morning and then get stuff ready for next week
Still having problems tracking requirements on the black belt site. Since no one else is having these problems, I assume it is my technology that is the problem. Will keep track on paper until I can figure out the problem. Family in town for CIAA, missed class this weekend, but had fun with my niece. Every year, I get sick around CIAA. Don't know whether it was form the crowds at the games, or the spring allergies. Even though I did not go to the games this year, feel my body trying to fight off something. Trying to support my body. An asthma exacerbation is no joke. I truly don't have time to be sick for 3 months. And I really detest steroids even if they do work.
Has to miss weekend blackbelt class today. Kinda stung because I enjoy them and really wanted to go but wasn't able to attend. Guess I will have to miss next week's also because it is instructor camp!

The Crossfit Open started last night. Tomorrow I will be getting some football cards that I ordered on Tuesday. I am getting some cards that are really good or that are supposed to be good. Im getting this card that has part of there jersey,but not the real jersey just like a fake. I also know that in every pack there's a rookie card a really good rookie card.
Yesterday was really long. I was worn out from school, kumon and then swimming class, Could not get my requirements done and will do it today. I have ice cream party and my sister has a Fancy Nancy tea party at school today. Yesterday at swimming class it was fun. We did a lot of back strokes and free styles.
Got a few things to completion at work today, but forgot about one. I will have to do that first thing tomorrow. Luckily I can do that from home. I took a vacation day tomorrow to hopefully play some catch-up and make some progress on essays. I look forward to a productive day, although it will be tempting to sleep in. Thank you Master Tucker for working on self-defense with me again. It is very helpful practicing with a partner.
Today I got into the 18,000s of steps. During school, I almost got 10,000. Then, I went on a run. Thennn, I took regular class and sparring class. So that got me a lot of steps. I think I might rap it up short today. I mean, there was the fact that I could barely play football today because I had to bullet all of my throws so the wind wouldn't blow my football away. It was very strong wind. Thankfully I am really good at throwing and can throw it very hard. Well, good night.
Another sparing class is down. Only 4 more to go! Was a pretty good class today. Took it a little slow to make sure I didn't overdo it this week.

There's a big yellow ball in the sky that I am trying to identify. Yes folks, I think the sun is making an appearance. I don't know about you all, but I'm tired of running in the cold. There's always someone who tells me to try a treadmill. I rather poke dull objects into my eye. Talk about boring. Spring running is awesome. Something about the warm sun on your face, music going, the wind is blowing through the trees, and the cows are staring at you. Today, a little chiwawa (obvious little) came sneaking up behind me when I was running. My spidey senses were tingling and I turned around when he was about five feet away with his little fur sticking up and teeth bared. He immediately stopped and turned away like he was just looking for his lost contact or something. All I could do was laugh which...
So interesting drive home for work and then to and from Tae Kwon Do today. The power for almost all of the Lincoln County traffic lights is out. This wouldn't be horrible if people knew that when the light is out, it automatically becomes a 4 way stop, not a "blow thru the intersection because you can" situation. North Florida got hit much worse than we did (couple tornado spotted in the panhandle) but talked to my renter today and my house is still standing, which is a good thing.
Love Wednesdays. Get to start my day working out with Master Evins and end the day with my Adult class. Work out number 2 this morning with Ms.Theresa. I was worried about getting in my requirements today, so she incorporated them into the work out. Packed all my meals again today. Got the schedule from Master Evins for Instructors Camp (don't ask cuz I won't tell), getting excited!
My dad called Men's Shelter to see if they have any dates. So we are getting some where on that. Anyways had a really chill day at school. I was ahead and finished all my work so I got to study for half of all my classes for science. Have a test tomorrow. Came back home and did homework for an hour straight. It was easy but just very time consuming. Then went to Church Class came back and did homework for another 30min. That was just some homework due in like a week. Just wanted to get that off my head. It's about time. I looked at my elbow today that looked kinda like a battle scar but it has healed a lot. Hopefully it will be much better soon. I'm just hoping for the best, I always do. My knee on the other hand, well, it feels as if I never even fell on it. Running cant still cause the smallest amount of pain though, but not enough so that it hurts. I had a good run today with my friends Jaylen, Logan and Holden. It was fun. Whats really funny is I get dropped off to king tiger by my bus and when we run the bus always passes us. It's crazy! One time I got honked at. I got so scared I hid behind the bushes. Well, good night.

Long day today. I just came back from Tae Kwon Do. Had a great BB class. Did my mentor session and also helped out Jr Tigers. My mentee called in sick and I hope he feels better soon. Also I got straight A in my report card today. Very happy!!!

On saturday me and my team are going to the playoffs. We will win. I think we are playing at our court or the other teams court. If we loose we are out if we win we still play. My coach said that we will play against the undefended team. We have a really good team we just need to score thats what we near to do to win the game.
Sorry guys but we can't do the friendship tray. They are only open on weekdays. I was then thinking Spring Break but then I remembered not everyone has off the same week has I do. So then my dad said the Men's Shelter. They have the same thing where you go and make the food. Never been their but my dad said his office is going. So I was guessing we can go their as well. I meant to write this yesterday. Yesterday I either badly sprained my toe or straight up broke it. Anyway, it's unpleasant to walk. I stayed away from doing more intense foot-involved requirments and just did pulls ups and a couple sets of poomsaes and self defenses to avoid permanent deformities. It's getting better already and I'm pretty sure I can do class tomorrow without worsening it.
I like Ryan's idea of packing food for the homeless. Ryan, I think you so look into what available dates they have and check back in. Excellent idea. Hopefully, that will work for everyone. Foster
Returned home Sunday from a marriage retreat. Hopefully I'm working better now. There is nothing more uncertain than walking in a marriage retreat. You don't know if your wife is going to get up out of her chair and start crying yelling, "You ruined my life!" Or, if a group of people that you don't too well are going to encircle you for a group embrace session. You just don't know. Fortunately, it turned out to be a lot of fun and every educational. Nobody fought, no fingers were pointed or directed upward, we just learned that our relationship with God is the determining factor of having a great marriage. For those who are old enough to marry, I highly recommend one. For those who are younger, get ready, challenge is coming your way. But like every challenge in your life, meet it with a smile and a clean pair of...
I love Mondays....I always seem to get a lot done on Monday. Start the day by prepping all my meals, then head to Cross Fit. Then, head to the school and work on the Pick up schedule for the After School Kiddos. Then I just start knocking things off the "to do" list. Finally got smart and added my requirements to my list...makes it easier to get them done in between phone calls and emails...got a new After School kiddo tonight, so feeling pretty good!
I was thinking on our community service project we have to do together. If anyone has any ideas I am up for it. We have to get it done though. Yesterday was good. The weather was really great. I played a lot with my friends and then with my dad too. He then left in the afternoon to California. He is yet to type the essays I wrote and hopefully get everything done by this week

I am so sleepy after today's retreat. At the end of the retreat while everyone was finishing me and my freinds went to play football on a highschool field. Such a bad idea when your tired. We played full too. I am so tired. I wish I could just go to sleep. But have to study. As you can imagine after you legs being sore and all your body hurts it's hard doing requirements. Still going to try doing them. Have to study though because I barely know French and we have a Unit Test. Ughhhh. Hope everyone has a great day. Sleepy ;)

I think we had 23 kids in Jr Tigers class this morning. Some of them are very quiet and others are anything but. It is fun watching their enthusiasm. I worked on yellow belt self-defense after family class again today with one of the students and I can tell the difference since last weekend. He is really getting it and if he doesn't get it quite right the first time, he usually knows what to correct to get it right. Watching the light bulb is pretty cool! I did have to go in to work today and stayed almost as long as a normal work day, but should not have to go in tomorrow as I thought I might. Still a little time for me to do some of my requirements tonight.
Couldnt really do anything today. I had a Church Retreat today. Just got home and trying to do requirements. It was pretty fun. Got to see a lot of my old friends. Nothing really much do. Just praying and and then talks. Bascailly what the retreat was. That's really out of today. Wished I could have at least came to BB class today couldn't. Have a Retreat tomorrow as well so have to get my requirements almost done and go to sleep.
Had a great day today. Did BB class. Came home and finished all my requirements. Finished my essays too and my dad is typing it to upload to the dropbox next week. I finished all my assignments too and watched some tv. Tomorrow is sunday and i want to sleep as much as possible. It is supposed to be warm tomorrow and i am planning to do my run in the afternoon
Today me and my dad were looking through some of his old stuff. So we found some of his old football,basketball,baseball cards. Of course there all legends because he uses them when he was a kid. He found this colts legend so I know Logan would want to trade.
Two great classes this morning at North Charlotte. Ran with Master Hartle and Inst Lloyd after class. Was very ready to get home and eat some lunch. Dinner out tonight with the Goulds. Time for shower and a nap!
Yesterday was alright I guess. I had the usual Friday Combo: school, piano lesson, class. My older sister came over from college to stay the weekend. I'll be catching up on some Spanish, do a couple mile run, and then head to class.
Yesterdays workout had me on my back for almost 10 minutes after, and I didn't even finish. Started with strict press. Got the weight I failed at 2 weeks ago. Still 10 lbs below my PR 50 cal row 25 front squat (115 lb) 50 kbs (55 lb) 50 ab mat situp 50 kbs 25 front squat 50 cal row (only got 30 cal in the 20 min cap) Felt great later in the day. Shoulder continues to heal (I think). Less and less pain.
Finished day 5 of classes, those sparring classes will be the death of me. My hips are incredibly sore and tomorrow should be a decent challenge to keep up. Finally got most of the stuff out of my apartment, including my scuba doubles which must weight over 70 lbs when full (and they are full).
So sore from practicing all the dynamic kicks. Will need to get super stretched out before black belt class tomorrow. Looking forward to a nice weather weekend.
OWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!! Today at school I tripped and fell and landed on my elbows and knees. My elbow was bleeding so much and it felt like I broke my knees. I was limping all day but thankfully I was still able to take class. However doing font kicks and back stances was not fun. At all. Well, good night.
That is what I did today. I focused on all my assignments today, got a 100% on my History Test and when I got home I had fun. I even got all my homework done as well. I felt so good. About to have some family time tognight and go out. My family is literally calling me right now. Hope everyone had a great day. Also got most of my requirements done stil have a bit more.
Yesterday was another long day. Came back from school and went to swimming class. In school we had PE and i did most of my requirements in school. In swimming class did a lot of laps of swimming including backstroke with double arms and no kicks. I love doing that. I came back home and finished all my remaining requirements and then crashed into the bed.
Today was not a typical day, but I don't have those any more anyway. One nice thing out of the ordinary was celebrating two birthdays at work. I have a few specific things I need to accomplish at work tomorrow. As many times as I hear about work / life balance, which one usually takes priority. I will be working a lot of this weekend and I knew it was coming. I have been much better prepared for it in the last two years of working on this project. It has been a bumpy conversion and we are trying to work through a big bump right now as well. Anything other than a perfect outcome is not acceptable. I have my fingers crossed on this one.
I am attempting to do a week straight (sans Sunday) of classes and today finished day 4. Not sure how younger people do it, but 2 sparring classes in 1 week (with an adult class in between in which we did more dynamic kicks) is doing murder on my hips. Had to sit out for some of the more intense parts of the class because I still need to be able to walk tomorrow. Hoping to get off work early and be able to attend black belt class but we will see what happens tomorrow.
For some reason today was easy. I did my requiements didn't have much homework and got a 100% of my math test. All the other class where relaxed. We got to study for our History Test tomorrow but I am sure that's easy. Because history is easy in 8th grade. Hopefully. Still going to study for. Got a long time to get a Mentor session in. Hopefully everyone had great day!
Really long day yesterday. From school to Kumon to Tae Kwon Do. In regular class Master Knight made us do a lot of kicks. After that we did Leadership and then during Hyper we did sparring. Master Evins was making us practice the kicks and how we should move. Lots of kicks yesterday. Great sparring class. I need to work on a few drills and planning to do it with my dad this weekend. Another long day today just that i have swimming tonight instead of Tae Kwon Do. I love swimming and working on my new skill as well there. Its called the caterpillar stroke and this will be my new skill essay too.
I did the double dojang workout yesterday. I joined the Master Hartle's sparring class at Lake Norman. Then went over to North Charlotte for some, Dynamic Combative. I wanted to see how the other side lived. Actually, my wife wanted to put a desk into her new office space which is right next door to the Lake Norman King Tiger. It was one of those moments where all husbands are tested to see if we will say the right thing. I was getting ready to hit my two mile run, when she ask if I could help her with her desk. Which translates into, no run, no black belt class, and no immediate dinner due to the fact that it was commuter time and it's a 35 minute drive to the Birkdale area. I stood there really still hoping she would forget I was in front of her, didn't work. So,...
Really good adult class today. Was able to work out some of the Poomsae changes so that they feel more natural. Feeling yesterdays sparing class today for sure and hoping that tomorrows wont be as challenging (dynamic kicks galore). We shall see what tomorrow brings. I am 99% moved out of my apartment, just have all my scuba gear in the garage that needs to be moved out.
Felt beat up and in a lot of pain this morning. Morning workout went well. Started a new supplement regimen, adding O2 Gold and Bio Charge before and during workouts. Lots of new dynamic kicks with Master Evins. Shoulder not hurting, and back seems better. Even jacked up elbow from last night's BB class isn't hurting much.
Today we are celebrating my cousins 2nd birthday. It was supposed to be on Monday but had to be canceled. So pretty exited for that. Had a great day. Woke up to no headache. Had a page of homework to do then I was done. It was a pretty chill day! Nothing to crazy. About to go to Chuch Class and then right after to my cousins place. Hope everyone had a great day!
Yesterday we had school. It was a good day at school. Had math test and did pretty well. Helped Jr Tigers class in the evening and then did my mentor session with Master Randle. We went thru my stick and staff forms and all my pa gwe forms as well. Finally did BB class after that. I was totally tired and hit bed as soon as i came back home. Getting ready for school now and have a long day ahead today with classes including Hyper.
I started my day with an unexpected trip to school to drop off a late riser so I arrived at work late for the first of several conference calls. Luckily one was canceled so I was able to accomplish something. Another unexpected thing today was a text from my older son regarding a meeting with a Navy recruiter. We are following that up with a meeting tomorrow afternoon. It would actually be nice to see some promising direction on that front, but did not see that one coming. I worked on requirements after black belt class and then Master Cavazos was kind enough to work with me on double stick 2. Thank you sir! I will get it. A few more requirements before I will call it a day.
My brother does not have the flu like I thought, he does have strep though. I do think I need to catch up a bit with my requirements.
Got a sparing class done and another Mentoring session so all in all a pretty good day! Tired so going to try to get some sleep but look forward to classes tomorrow.
Ahhh, today I had my first saxophone lesson. It was really fun. I learned how to play a few notes. Plus, it was kind of easy because I played the clarinet and was fantastic at it, the saxophone is played by by a mouthpiece like the clarinet so it was really easy. And fun. On monday, I went to the gym with my mom. I basically ran a 5k.(on a treadmill that is.) It was fun. Now for today, I learned how to do a 540, and it will not be on my list of fun kicks for a while.
