Tuesday Night

I really like helping with Family class on Tue and Thur. Nate and I have been doing it for some time. I get a chance to work with the younger kids on their skills. It is good for me to break the items down to teach them slowly. I try to find easy ways for them to remember things. It is good, because it also helps me remember them. It is really great to see them get better as time goes as well. It is also great to see the confidence in these children raise. I really wish I had done martial arts earlier in life. I think it would have helped me as well. I did many different things growing up that helped me build confidence, but it really wasn't until college that I gained the most. I was a small kid growing up so I got picked on... I would not say bullied (in the way people describe it today), but picked on. I has friends and I really never let it get me down too much. It wasn't until college where I started to exercise more and gain strength and size. I was never huge, but I was not as small as I was in high school. Anyway, I think martial arts would have helped me. I see how these kids get more confident. I try to teach them the practical sense of some of the forms, kicks, blocks, etc. Not that I want any of them to get into fights, but if it happens I want them to be prepared to defend themselves. Tae Kwon Do has totally changed my life in these past ~6 years. It is awesome. Keep moving!!!
