Thursday

It was a pretty good day at work. I had to provide some presentations to a series of co-workers from across the globe. They all came into Charlotte for an offsite. It went pretty well. We got some stuff completed but many actions and follow-ups... so more work to come. I raced home, and Trish had made dinner. I cannot say enough great things about my wife. Nate and I ate, and then we started getting ready for our night of TKD. It was a really good sparring class. Master Marcus had some good exercises to get us warmed up, and we got a bunch of sparring rounds in. It was good practice. I am trying some new stuff in class. Just seeing if some things work. Some do and some don't... but best place to practice is in class. Looking forward to the next tournament. Then onto family class. I believe I wrote about this on the last one. I truly enjoy instructing the younger and lower belts. Most are eager to learn, and I really do try to show and enforce proper technique. Showing them preps and stances. I know it is important, and it was great when I was a lower belt because the instructors took the time to show me the right way early. I didn't have as many bad habits... still have a few and working through them. I also really try to show them the practical sense of some of this... why we really do it and how it can help defend yourself in a real situation. I seem to remember the movements better when I understand the practical sense of it. Our Masters and Instructors are really good at explaining that... so I try to do the same for this new generation of rising color belts. Keep moving!!!
