Journal #71- 03/26/2026 Lalitha

Today was a nice day. School went by pretty quickly, and I finished up my missing work before doing my requirements. After that, I spent some time fixing up my requirements sheet, then got ready for TKD.

At TKD, I helped out with the 6:15 Senior Tigers class. We mostly worked on self‑defenses, and I worked with the high white belts through high yellow belts along with Porter and Luca. After that, the class played Red/Black, which was fun to watch.

Then I had a mentor session with Master Weeks. We worked on poomsaes first, and then I partnered up with Jackson to go through some self‑defenses. I got some helpful tips from Instructor Antoine and Master Weeks. We also practiced our sinawalis, Single Stick Form 1, Staff Form 1, and a few other things. After class, my parents and Master Weeks talked for a while before we headed home.

Once I got back, I ate a bit of dinner, finished my homework, and now I’m getting ready to head to bed soon.

Okay. So. About the move to the new dojang building I’m definitely going to miss the current branch. I’ve had so many memories there, and even though the new building is literally across the street, it’s still going to feel different. But I’ve decided to treat it as a new beginning.

NOW… about Black Belt Testing. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! Some advice from my mentor: Don’t think too much about it; don’t overthink. We’ve been practicing for a long time, especially these past three months. We’re ready. We’ll do great.

Yeah, I think that’s it. BYEEE. AND STREAM SWIM/ARIRANG!

OH AND - Hope everyone’s doing well, and good luck with the Black Belt Testing!!   Lalitha Sree Damarla⁷
