2/9 - #20

Today, I had to stay mute for 12 hours. It was difficult being unable to put my input on things, but it helped me be a better listener. It was entertaining watching my friends try to get me to talk throughout the school day and during the weekend black belt class. To my success, they failed.

My school friends had tried poking fun, making me laugh, and bribery to make me talk. In the end though, they were super impressed with my determination and helped me through the day, explaining to other people why I couldn’t talk and taking the time to translate my gestures. My friend even taught me some sign language; although simple, I’m really grateful for them.
