There can only be one Highlander

Old movie quote that came to mind. What it means to this entry? Not a thing. I just like the way it sounds. I'm seeing a lot of tired candidates. Including myself. The good news is, that is you shedding your old weakness and becoming something stronger. As much as these cycles can be a pain in the southside. I believe that it's going to be the best thing you and I have ever done. Nobody remembers the easy times in their lives. It's the stuff that makes you want to crawl under a rock and start clicking your fancy red shoes, saying, "there's no place like home." Those are the times that stick with you and define the martial artist you start to become. Here's a little story that happened during my service years. I tried out for this job that was called Pararescue, which was basically search and rescue. There was a indoctrination course, which is a fancy word for them trying to make you quit while you tried out. It was the most grueling thing I have ever done, but through God's grace, I made it. We graduated 11 guys out of the original 68. A few years later, some general decided that our career field was not growing fast enough, so he had a bunch of guys skip the indoctrination course. At first it seemed like a great deal for those guys. But after they got to their assignments, they felt cheated. The opportunity for them to prove themselves before the career field and for themselves was stripped away and they never could retrieve it.

This is why the cycle is so important. It's the ability to prove something to yourself. Something that many have proved before you, and you are given the opportunity to see what you are made of. So, this is a long way of saying, stay motivated, stay on target, and simply make it happen! Dig down to the bottom of your bowels and find that defiant son of a gun that your not supposed to let out because it wouldn't be nice, and release him/her on the world. This is your cycle, get some!
