Poomsae Watch Party

Today I didn't have much to do, other than the poomsae watch party and a couple of essays that I had to take care of. I did a few cycle workouts, nothing too much today, and I was going to go to recfest at UNCC (to get to know the Taekwondo club and the team I was going to be training with while I'm here) but decided I was going to spend some time catching up with essay work before I eventually have to go and do schoolwork in 2 weeks or so. I am thinking about contacting the U of M's Taekwondo club to see if they compete or have individuals who compete, as that is a place that I can potentially go to for training when I'm away. It's also another way to escape a small school that, while it's great that classes are not far away at all and the entire school is 2 blocks, sometimes one has to find an escape from all the same people and the same drama. Last semester, I did not have as much of an outlet (closest thing I had was the Shoreview dojang, and it was hard to get to due to lack of public transit to where it was and uber is increasingly expensive, as opposed to a place where public transit can reach, which is free for me as a Macalester student) and I felt like I didn't do as well because of that. I am glad that I got the experiences that I did last year, but I want to do this year differently and being able to reach my goals both on and off the campus will require me changing up how I do things.
