Less Than 5 Weeks to Go

One of the things I try to get students who have a belt test coming up (not just Bocho Dans) to do is be honest when assessing themselves about what their strengths and weaknesses are.  I have no problem telling them what I think I need to work on, and I invite them to join me in the dojang on Sunday afternoon for 30-45 minutes so we can help each other get better.  If I'm not there with another senior belt, I'm there by myself.  I've had lower belts join me for practice, but I'm still waiting on another Bocho Dan.  We have less than 5 weeks left.

After I left the dojang, I went to one of the local bowling alleys and met with some friends to practice for a tournament we have coming up in December.  My brothers and I have been bowling since we were kids, but I haven't picked up a ball in a couple years.  After October 2-3rd, I'll be able to devote more time to this.  We have a 5-man team, and I don't want to be the low man on the totem pole.
